    Hi all,

We've a new veggie patch that's just been turned over and has a nice tilt now.

The plan is to start planting next March/April so I'm wondering if there's any particular cover crop (or manure crop) that's worth sticking in for the winter months.

    Thanks.

Rye Grass, cut in the very early spring, dig top soil over, plant/sow about 3 weeks later.

I'm using Phacelia and also Landsberger mix as green manures/cover crops. Just about still enough time to sow them now!

Phacelia was mentioned to me too - might try that in one patch and rye grass in the other. Nothing like a bit of on-site research!
