    a) it's been wel, more than once he used it

    B) more importantly, as president, our president, he lied about why he used it and stated our neighbouring jurisdiction couldn't protect him, just to get out of a hole. Is that presidential?

He doesn't decide his security detail nor his travel arrangements

    Challenged opinions actually.
Casey's only challenge is himself to be honest. Woeful performance, was made to sound silly again and again. At least he kept smiling.

Again your opinion. I don’t think MDH came across as very presidential. Grubby, greedy, evasive yes, but worthy of s second term? No.

The Sinner wan was only one house servant away from sounding like Pee Flynn.

Shocking that she’s struggling to get by on 47k net!

I also learned tonight that there’s different tiers of average :)

Wrong? I don't think so. No doubt he'll get loads of 'likes' from the faithful.

Casey came across as having a lot of positivity and energy, like he was really enjoying himself, just talking. He wasn't guarding his responses and acting like the others.

He actually seems like good craic. The only one there that had a smile now and again.

What's the problem with using the jet?
So long as its state business, isn't that what we have one for?
Nothing. Except for the fact that it was only 90 mins up the road by car.

Unfortunately, the jet only carries a certain amount of people. Maybe 7.
Also, presumably the car was needed to drive him, once there.
No good everyone being in the jet & then standing around looking for lifts!

Yes of course no alternative transport options are available in Northern Ireland. 🙄 Sometimes if you are scraping the bottom of the barrel to excuse a mistake it is better to just admit a mistake was made and move on.

That's an important (and often overlooked) parameter when it comes to election candidates.

And the people who do are charged with the task of getting him there safely and home in one piece.

That's what any self respecting nation does for the Head of State.

How many times did Mary Mc Aleese, advised by the same office, fly to Belfast, do you know?

Which made his spoof seem all the more cynical.

    We've been over this.

I take my orders from my office blah blah blah is what he should have said, he accused the police force of another jurisdiction of not fulfilling their obligations.

    Not presidential.

And they have to shoplift from pennys as well.

Casey's vote will send a message - scroungers of all types are no longer welcome. Those who make an effort and require social welfare, are very welcome.

More of Casey putting his foot firmly in his gob. This housing thing in Tipp has been going before they got SEMS.

People refusing Social Housing is a problem that involves a lot more than one family in Tipp. But let's target a community that will get certain people riled up like a 'mob'.
The homes the homeless get aren't great, in fairness. They're certainly not multi-million euro custom built homes.

Brian Cowen loved his pints. Don't remember the country doing that great on his watch though.

Twice, within a couple of days according to this. But, it was a different Northern Ireland back then.

As I posted in the TV debate thread in the last ad break ...

    - the two ladies are desperately trying to seem relevant and failing

    - MDH has problems with being questioned

    - Gallagher and Duffy are spoofers

    - Casey is unrehearsed and unpolished... But he's defending himself well against constant attacks (from the other candidates and the host) and not getting dragged into the squabbling, and all the better for it

... Having watched it all, Casey was the big winner tonight, highlighted even more by the antics of the others towards him (the RTE host being the worst in that regard).

MDH was badly exposed tonight. Out of touch, arrogant and evasive of any details. Will lose votes as a result of tonight's performance.

Gallagher imploded again, and the 2 ladies and Duffy tried (and failed) way too hard to get noticed.

Cowen loved his pints but you wouldn't like to go drinking with him. There's a difference! :P

As I predicted in one of my scenarios last night, if Casey attempted to stand over what he said he would get hammered. He got slaughtered by McCullagh who boxed him into saying something that he shouldn't have. That 'SEMS brought extra benefits for travellers', he didn't even get finishing the sentence as the entire panel finished his facile, exploitative publicity stunt off. He took you for fools and if you are still backing his redundant remarks well...
