A big gust actually just broke the lock on one of my windows and it flung open. (I'm up quite high in a Dublin apartment)

Luckily no huge gusts came in the time it took me to wake up suddenly, notice what was going on and on running downstairs to pull it closed. It was at a 90 degree angle to the wind so would have blown off.

Had to break out the tool kit to remove the lock and refit it while gusts kept trying to catch the window open again. Mad stuff.

Power cut here in D6. Though I've had quite a few outages in the last few weeks so may not be storm related.

Someone left a Tesco trolley at the edge of a road. Watch it get blown into a car...

Well that was a non event here in north kilkenny/ south laois. I looked out to see an empty coal bag I'd forgotten to pick up last night in the garden..... This morning it's still there. I understand forecasters for their best and weather is unpredictable at best, and some areas are/ were hit badly, but when there are warnings and nothing much materialises it just undermines the whole warning system.

No it doesn't as most folk are aware of variations

Kilkenny under a yellow warning anyway, I'm not really sure what you were expecting tbh. We get loads of yellow wind warnings per winter.

Well, what's the alternative? As you said it was worse elsewhere and your region had a yellow warning. The people for whom it does merit an orange should get said warning even if S Kilkenny doesn't specifically get badly hit. System worked as intended. You got yellow and nasty but not awful weather. Other regions have trees and power down.

Same goes for Dublin. You'd think from listening to complaints from Dublin that it's just plain insulting that a storm should be warned at all when Dublin isn't going to be the epicentre! Sure who cares about the entire Atlantic seaboard..

I'm not taking this at all seriously, maybe I should but it just feels like it'll be nothing more than a standard issue windy night with rain.

My suspicion proven correct! Total non event in Waterford.

    Non event everywhere, Harry.
Met Eireann knew 24 hrs out that Callum was going to miss us by a good margin, but having issued their Orange warnings they couldn't withdraw them without seeming to be scaremongers.
It was gas listening to the news reports on radio this morning where they trying, unsuccessfully, to pretend that there was a big storm overnight.

Non event because you were asleep & missed it all. If it happened 12 hours earlier/later, you certainly wouldn’t be calling a non event.
