Best way to apply for Veterinary

I imagine this has been asked before but I can't find much information about it.

I'm 32 years old and would like to look into doing Veterinary in UCD as a mature student. I only got 310 points in my Leaving Cert.

As far as I know, the only way to study Veterinary in Ireland is in UCD full time.

Forgive my ignorance. How does the mature student process work? Would I simply apply to UCD as a mature student and see if they have a place for me or is there more steps to the process?

Any advice on this is really appreciated, thanks so much.
