Goop is a company owned by actress Gwyneth Paltrow. It was launched as a "lifestyle brand" by Paltrow in September 2008, beginning as a weekly e-mail newsletter providing new age advice, such as "police your thoughts" and "eliminate white foods", and the slogan "Nourish the Inner Aspect"

All well and good, but with a pop-up shop just opened in W'Ldn, they're expecting great footfall. You do have to question the pricing structure, and the actual shoppers whom are happy to pay such prices.

Not saying items of sale aren't of great quality, but do consider alternatives for these 'everyday items'.

    e.g. Goop - Psychic Vampire Repellent Spray - £30
Alternative - String of garlic €/£5.

e.g. Goop - 'Medicine bag' (wee bag of crystals) - £76
Alternative - Very much the same type of product ebay/amzn €/£7.

e.g. Goop - 'Restriant Tape' (as you do..) - £36.'96'
Alternative - DuctTape or String €/£2.

Whatever about vampire repellent, I wonder if there'll be fitting rooms for the vaginal eggs?

    Confused it with Joop.

Almost as bad as the Cif/Jif mix up.

Some of their Goop smells are waaay better than Joop.

For example 'make things smell like wood', with their 85ml spray costing £60.

(Or just buy an off-cut bit of cedar, for the price of a handshake from a local joiner). Or if you live near a tree, open the window.

Note: each spray bottle contains 'a rose quartz crystal that’s been charged in the full moon'.

Gwyneth is still alive isn’t she? She’s not a vampire. Clearly this stuff works.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Kirsten Dunst. Two somewhat forgotten actors whose names are vaguely annoying.

She's alive and her Goop brand is now worth approx $250m usd.

When she can flog a 500gm of coconut butter for 30 squid (product id=1489). With very similar products available for <20% that cost in some of the finest health stores, it's really not that surprising.

Fair enough, but you have to worry about the sanity of folks paying what could well be considered slightly inflated prices.

I don't know why I looked into this thread, genuinely, but it's brilliant - thank you.

There's no hope for humanity. A pandemic that wipes out all of humanity and just leaves the animals to it is probably for the best at this stage.

As FrKurtFahrt said above, it's an amazing thread, because even though I know that the people who buy these things are possibly the stupidest people on this planet, but I'm getting so many lolz from the products there!

Contents such as bottled moonlight (which is wrong of course, it's bottled sunlight reflection), bottled soundwaves! Crystals charged under the full moon. Sonically tuned gem elixirs... Sweet baby Jesus...

Why would we want to deflect it?

The entertainment biz is full of these charlatans. Brand bull****ting their way to another fortune built on gullible divs living empty lives.

A $100 oak chopping board "Great for chopping, cutting, slicing, and dicing—we even love it as a chic charcuterie board for at-home entertaining"

I would love the job of writing the blurb for Goop

Darwinism went a bit arseways for our species largely on account of Mr. Holt's steam traction-engine, in all fairity. This enabled many suet-brained yahoos to survive away despite being about as useful as a chocolate fireguard.
