It is actually mind boggling. Unreal. Have all their IT dept. just got up and walked out the door?
    Hi everyone,

Our IT team are still investigating this for you, thank you for your patience.

Can all customers who are affected by this please confirm who their current internet provider is, please?

    Thanks

    Tracey
My god, a supposed telecoms and internet company has a nationwide, days-long outage of its online products, and the response is that they want all their customers to tell them who their internet provider is!

I cant access from either home or work.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 317 ✭✭billr67

No access from Mobile devices either.

I was able to access my mail using Microsoft Mail and linking to my Eir Webmail account. This means I can collect incoming mail but outgoing mail is being blocked by Eir so I cannot reply to anything.

Whatever has happened appears to be pretty serious if they're worried that outgoing mail is going to spread the problem.

Had no access to my eir webmail for days now , im with sky broadband.......but doesnt work when on mobile network either so its nothing to do with my broadband provider ...... this is not good enough Eir and the lack of communication with users is shocking!!!

Works on my Vodafone Mobile and Eir Mobile connections. Doesn't work on Virgin Media at home or in work (private connection). It's also reported as offline for everyone by Down.com (http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/eir.ie.html).

Looks like you have an internal routing or firewall problem blocking the traffic. This is NOT an ISP or external problem.

JDextra appears to be right. When I use my Vodafone mobile data it works but not on virgin media broadband.
Of course eir are going to point the finger at virgin media needless to say.

Doesn't work, then does work, but unable to login (502 error) on a corporate (offshore) connection - no Virgin Media involved anywhere.

Yes, definitely not a VM issue. My connection in work is via their own private line and Eir.ie doesn't work.

Doesn't work for me on either mobile or broadband, and have tried it at home, at work, and on several other networks. Hasn't worked for 3 days now.

Hiya can you send email when on Vodaphone or just access your inbox and incoming mail.

    Thanks.

In the US and the website is offline.

Eir reps, your customer service is appalling. Stop apologising for the inconvenience and get your IT team to troubleshoot and fix the problem.

I can do anything when I use my mobile data but can’t even open the Eir website when I’m at home on WiFi

Just got back in on my mobile and I can send emails now as well.

Didn't do anything special it just suddenly started working.

External email is blocked in my job so I can't check on my desktop.

It seems that they have fixed the problem (for now). Hopefully this time this is permanent… Because it started working yesterday for a while before being broken again.

I still cannot log into myeir, I type min my email, my passowrd and when I hit login I keep getting an endless loop of loading

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40 Philippe14

Same. I don't know if they have lost some servers or have some overload of people trying to connect, but the connection to the account often seems to timeout.

    Hi everyone,

We are aware of an issue with our website which is causing issues accessing webmail. We are currently looking into this and will have this resolved as soon as possible.

For the time being, can you try accessing it via mail2web.com?

    Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

    Thanks

    Tracey

Eeek - you want people to enter their password into a third party, non-secure, web site? Really?
