Message crashes every time try to open and read it

    Have been having problem with standard texts. Everyone I try to open a message it opens and instantly crashes. Have tried everything - reboot, turn off phone, free up storage.. Juat wondering if anyone ever had this problem?
    Have been having issue with WhatsApp also but not Viber. When try to restore chat history from cloud it says I restore history, than it says optimising WhatsApp and another message begin recovery. I launch that but then says I have to remove and download app again which I have done true last month but had not worked - so frustrating!!

    What version of iOS are you on?

    There was a character bug a couple of months back that caused messages to crash all the time!

    10.2.1. I have had an alert to tell me to update but it won't.It keeps failing. I will try again now

    Update it through iTunes on a PC/laptop. I had an issue withe my update failing when trying to do it over the air but worked grand on iTunes.
    You might also have the update downloaded in storage already (even though it didn’t install) which can take up a lot of space.

    Hi guys, thanks for your help. Connected phone to iTunes but it would download and update. Message appears saying error occurred think it was 6006. So frustrating because now I can't even read normal messages!!! Keeps crashing
