downloaded microsoft docs not opening when downloaded

Hi All, any reasons why when I download microsoft docs (word/ppt etc...) they are no longer opening from the download folder? They are listed as being downloaded but when I try and open them I get an error message that states they may be corrupt, but I know that they are not? I am running windows 10 on a Lenovo
