    Hi Folks

Currently a member of a flyefit - think it has great facilities but it's not working for me. Mostly because it's too flippin loud ( I feel old saying that!)

Went for a swim at Inspire in Cabra and thought it was decent enough (I also miss having access to a pool)

What's the gym like? Is the equipment good? Is it very busy - weekends and evenings)

Can you put on headphones and hear yourself think???

    Cheers

While I'm not a member of Inspire fitness, I have used it a good few times when I'm in Dublin and its a decent enough gym.

I have only used it on a Saturday morning so I can't say how busy it gets in the evenings during the week.

The equipment is all well maintained.

It has all the usual cardio equipment, treadmills, ellipticals, bikes and a couple of spin bikes.

The weights area is grand if a little limited. They have one flat bench press, 1 decline bench press, 1 smith machine, 1 squat cage, 1 squat rack, a prone row machine, about 5 adjustable benches in the DB area, with DBs that go up to maybe 50kg!

Any time I've been there I've had to play the hunt the other DB game, but thats kinda expected these days. (except in the gym I use in Limerick which always has an ordered DB rack.)
They have standard 20kg Barbells for the benches and squat racks but there is limited space and bars for deadlifting. they do have bumper plates so if you are looking to load up on very heavy deadlifts it won't be possible. Even though they have bumpers there is no real space for dropping bars doing snatches and cleans etc.
They also have a few cable machines, a leg press machine, lat pull down and a couple of other machines that I know are there but dont know what they are exactly as I haven't used them.

They also have a segregated ladies corner, if that is something that is appropriate to you. Ladies of course should and do use the main gym area.

You should go in and try it out anyway and see if it works for you. Their casual rate is €8

    Hi

    thanks for the detailed reply!

Certainly it sounds like there isn't a huge amount of equipment, but to be honest I would want to start getting the basics down before I start thinking about the huge selection of things I've left behind but never used in flyefit.

If it's not too packed out and is less like a nightclub inside it might be a good fit for me.

    Thanks for info..

Do not join here unless you go in the mornings.
I left for flyefit as it was way too busy in the evenings.
    Plus flyefit is far cheaper.
Gangs of lads(4/5 on average high frequency) crowding machines and benches, way more than in flyfit(2 on average infrequent).
Noise on par with flyefit. Actually its louder in inspire.

Join a hotel gym if you want a quieter experience.
