I remember RTE showed this cartoon in the early 80's. and it being quite popular for a while. I don't know what caused this to pop into my head but I'd forgotten about it for years. Spawned from a film. The Germans (who made the series in association with Japan) seem to be remaking a lot of their old kids' TV shows as movies. We've had Vicky the Viking and The Legend of Timm Thaler, and Robbi, Tobbi und das fliewatuut, which unlike the others, wasn't shown in UK/Ireland.
