Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Just not the same

    You’d miss mayo and Kerry

They weren’t good enough but they bring a lot to the championship traditionally

Stand alone semis should be reinstated on separate weekends

Only because Galway are offering nothing. Living on reputation at this stage.

The calendar has made a meal of the championship. Too many games in too short a stretch.

Could we have a Galway championship game end with 30 players.........not even a back card for either team yet

For all the talk of Walsh, he's been very poor today.

The biggest issue is the style of football, too many teams/almost all of them play ****e defensive football.

But of course the GAA will not do anything serious to change this until basically nobody turns up for big matches like AI semi finals.

All soccer chants in GAA are tiring.... Thankfully it's limited to one county :-P

This just isn't Galways level. They'll learn from this. Men against boys.

You'd have to question the Galway management for not starting Comer in the second half. Strange call after his his goal.

Think he just scored there, could be wrong.

More than 30 scores. Is that defensive?

    I miss Mayo.

    Any excuse to knock them

There is a reason why Galway have offered nothing

The biggest issue is your whinging.

    It's not a 0-7 0-4 game.

    2-32 in scores.

What about that song that has nothing to do with Rugby,The Fields Of wherever.

More than 30 scores. Is that defensive?

    Yes.

Almost all football these days is safety first system based and it result in endless handpassing recycling the ball and no chances being taken.

All of this may be sensible but it's defensive in nature despite high tallies being put up.

The high scores is because of how much more skilful the players are these days compared to the past.

So many games have no edge to them because teams don't take any risks and no amount of scoring can compensate for that.

The U-20 final last weekend was a joy to watch as it was just old fashioned football with teams giving it a real go.

There's is noting the GAA can do about stopping defensive style football Dublin and the likes play.

Great achievement by Dublin 4 AI finals in a row almost an Annual All Ireland Final for them nowadays.

I am struggling to watch a full Gaelic football
Match anymore. And I am from a football county.

Thank god we have the hurling final next Sunday. It just keeps on giving.

Though hoping Monaghan go at Tyrone tomorrow to make a good game!

Its cat. It's actual worse to watch than soccer at this stage and that's saying something.

Very flat game. Super 8s was always daft when you had a team as dominant as Dublin.

Defensive football  they have 1 20 odd on the scoreboard ! Maybe other teams need some defensive football.

This is the way the game is going to remain as long as Dublin have somebody competent running things. People talk about Jim Gavin like he is some kind of genius and maybe he is but he doesn't have to be. Dublin just have a way bigger pool to pick from than anybody else and as long somebody competent is in charge they are going to keep winning All-Irelands.

A masterclass of a second half performance

Galway outscored 0-15 to 1-5 this half, awful stuff.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,243 ✭✭✭C__MC

Can Tyrone realistically give the dubs a game?

I’d rule out Monaghan due to the drubbings Dublin have given them

How can anyone fault that second half. Dublin simply clinical in every area, the bitterness ripping out of you all. Sam welcome home.

Football is a joke. Visual standard of game getting worse and worse and Dublin yet again walk another All Ireland.

Going to have to make serious changes because more and more people turning away from the game as it is now.
