looking to replace my treadmill, simply hate running these days so no use for it.

so need to replace it with something for cardio, a rower would be ideal but don't have the room for it, so a bike it is, anyone have any idea what's the best type of indoor bike to get?

reason for use would be keeping the pounds off. from a quick browse online, they aren't cheap so any expert knowledge is appreciated, whether that be what type of bike would be best or where to get a relatively good one for cheap?

Don’t buy a rowing machine I ended up getting chest pains using one

I have this bike it’s brillaint and it has a backrest

Ultrasport exercise bike F-Bike 200B with hand pulse sensors, with backrest, foldable, Silver/Orange https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00FZM5WEM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_.xyyBb4B8B734

was looking at one of them actually, decently priced and easily moved which is great for me.

was just wondering on the workout side of things would one of them be better or a proper spin bike, never actually done cycling as a cardio thing so i have no idea.

I doubt the rowing machine was the dole reason you got chest pains. A decent rowing machine can be a magnificent piece of exercise equipment.

Also, Tom Simpson died from cycling!!!1!1

rowers a great full body cardio thing, but take up too much space. i wouldn't dare cycle on the roads as i'd end up like poor tom

Have you a normal bike? Why not by a smart turbo trainer and connect it to Zwift.
I use Zwift for running myself, makes the time on a treadmill fly by

I would say the concept 2 takes about the same space as a bike when it is separated into its two sections which takes around 5secs at most. Hell of a lot easier to move around the house when its separated or put outside on a nice day for your workout as well.

Commercial spinning bike second hand can be very good value then all you would need is a smart phone/laptop or iPad to connect a heart monitor and use something like trainerroad/zwift/training peaks to make your workouts worth while.

I hadn't seen it taken apart before and watched a video expecting for 5s to be an exaggeration. 15s tops. I had no idea!

interesting, i heard about this zwift thing being very good for workouts and keeping you motivated, you are able to use it off on spin bikes too and not just on turbo trainers?

The price is all relative. They are bullet proof. You will spend the same money on inferior products over the course of a few years. Repairs will be difficult as the cheaper products tend to be discontinued. The PM5 will sync your workouts through an android/apple device to the cloud where you can rank your progress against other users across the world and get a feel for how you are progressing. Concept do Ski ergs and bikes as well if that takes your fancy.

i'll defo start with a bike, want to have both a bike and a rower so one at a time haha.

I heard about the zwift app, you are able to race real time vs people around the world? that sounds next level stuff and unreal for motivation, but does it only work with bikes on turbo trainers? or can it be connected with a spin bike?

Zwift is great. You can connect to it with a Footpod and run on it and race people.
Not sure if it can be connected to a spin bike. You need a smart device to send the info like speed/ cadence etc to the game.
