Purchasing Advice NH TS100

Hi All,

I am looking to buy a used tractor (90-115HP). I'm currently looking at a 2000 TS100 New Holland(NH).

I'm a Massey man so I don't have a lot of experience with NH. From the research I've done to date the TS100 appears to be a fairly robust machine.

Does anyone have any personal experiences (good or bad) of the TS100.

Or should I stick with what I know and go for an MF 4355 or 5455 ??

Tl100 or t5050 are a good, reliable pokey tractor with a fiat background.
Some say they're a tad light in the rear for loader work but that's easily remedied

From what I hear, I would stay away from a 2005/6 5455, as the 5400 series was brand new, they they had some teething issues that were ironed out after the first 2 years. Is the only difference between the 4200 and 4300 the gear box?

2006 would be my year preference as DYNA 4 arrived in 2007. "Is the only difference between the 4200 and 4300 the gear box?" have no idea.

Yes I love the T5050, but they are crazy money!!

2002 or later black chassis not grey ts115 non turbo.
mine does feeding work all winter.
No issues.

What are the differences between the grey and black chassis as a matter of interest?

A revised model over the grey. Stronger back , arms ram etc....wheel rims heavier as they were prone to a crack plus more that I can’t remember

Biggest difference was the emissioned engine and the paint scheme. It got millennium blue rather than Ford blue, which I think was a term of sale to new holland.

I'd go on condition above all else, but I think a lot of them are getting ropey at this stage given they have put down twenty years hard graft.

Should add I have a ts115 from new. Great tractor really. Can't fault it.

I'd be going the Massey. Stick with the brand you know about.

We have a tm125 from new 18 years old now. Couldn't fault it. Put a new clutch in it last year. Great tractor. Would be a long tome before we'd replace it. Had a 3080 mf before that, endless trouble with the gearbox in that. Its on the KEENAN feeder and slurry tanker and spreads fertiliser

Your 100% right. Its very difficult, maybe impossible to get an honest machine now over 10 years old, unless you know the owner or machine history. Looked at so many painted-up machines over 15 years old that have never passed 3-6k hours regardless of age.

Thanks an average of 333hrs a year, makes no sense!!

Don't know what part of the country you are in but there is a clean ts100 in Naas farm machinery at the moment, has a loader , paint looks original, it has the Electro Shift 16 speed gearbox.

Op what tractor have you at the moment, what sort of work is it carrying out and what sort of hour/year are you putting up.
