Never drank much cider before but this summer have had a real taste for it.

Any recommendations? Have just been drinking bulmers and Orchard thieves of late. Remember liking kopparberg pear when I tried it a few years back but they only seem to stock mixed fruit flavour in my local shops.

Saw Applemans and might give that a go. Any others?

The dry versions of Tempted and MacIvor's are two of my go-tos. Lidl's Crafty Irish Dry Cider is great value too.

I think Dan Kelly's is very good.

It is. They've a new special edition out at the moment called Coll's Craft which I thought was beautiful. Orange label.

My daughter - lives in the UK - and loves Rekorderlig. I've never seen it here but I have tried their passion fruit one - gorgeous -especially sat outside a pub in Katherines Dock in 30 degree sunshine :)

Old Rosie. Awfully expensive in Ireland if you can find it. A wonderful drink though.

Always found Stella Raspberry very refreshing. Not too many places stock it though

If you drink a lot you might want to give the own brands a go, as there are huge savings over branded stuff. Some mentioned here would be ~€4.60 a 500ml bottle. 2L in aldi or lidl is about 3.79

I would take lidl/aldi/tesco cheap own brand over orchards thieves, but I do have a strong dislike for its "apple drop" flavour.

    Longueville or Orchard Thieves Light.

Stonewell I usually clear the shelf if I see it in a pub. Lovely cider.

Stonewell apple and rhubarb is really nice as is kopparberg elderflower and lime.

I went to college with guy who drank cans of linden village by the slab load. He used to say it was "the drink of kings".
    I assume he's dead now.

Stonewell apple and rhubarb is really nice as is kopparberg elderflower and lime.

They have an Apple & Cucumber cider out now too which is surprisingly nice.

For a medium dry cider I'd take Legacy Cider from Dungarvan over Stonewell

The cucumber cider makes a lovely mixer for gin.
    Really!

Certainly can't be any worse than the Jack Daniels Cider.

Unless you're a connousure of cider.

Aldi' s 2L of cullens cider is quite nice.

I use it for cooking, and tbh it's not bad in a pint glass with lots of ice.

I'd buy it over bulmars any day

Had one called Cockagee recently. Lovely stuff but pricey

    I am liking Applemans..
    Stonewell is nice.

Stonewell I usually clear the shelf if I see it in a pub. Lovely cider.

In a pub it's a few cent more than Bulmers for a million miles of a difference quality wise.

    I'm a fan of dry ciders .

    Craigies
loungville House is nice - they do a sweeter one called mB], but it's 8 - rocket fuel
Aspells Premiere cru or the organic are real favourites, but I'm not sure they distribute to Ireland anymore

It's difficult to get decent dry ciders in Ireland. Most of the labelled 'dry' ciders like McIvors etc don't really cut it for me.

    Lemon Bulmers

Orchard thieves light, absolutely gorgeous stuff

Not sure how Orchard Thieves can be called cider. In other countries it'd be described as an apple flavoured alcoholic beverage with added sugar. Is it subject to the new sugar tax? It should be.

I remember taking a sip of Rosie's Dew once and thinking it wasn't half bad. Same for Outcider, which I see is made by Bulmers. Can't be too great of a difference between them?

Favourite would be good old Bulmers or Stella Cidre.
