Haters be hatin' and that article quotes them all.

The author is a horrible excuse for a journalist. Her articles are largely man bashing and so there is no surprise she attacked a successful man who made an error in the echo chamber. Article full of inaccuracies too.

Removal of subsidys is going to start hitting them hard, they yanks aren't happy about losing the 15k subsidy and the Germans have to hand back theirs. Don't know how much longer middle aged white guys can keep this pumped. It's the cult factor keeping it alive at this stage a turn against Elon and Tesla will be gone the way of the dodo.
It's market cap is based on dreams not relaity.

He has yet to succeed at anything

Sold his first company for 1.5 billion. Now has a company worth 60 billion and another worth over 20 billion. SpaceX is not yet publicly traded but is also worth billions.

Stupid article written by a complete moron.

Tesla has one thing going for it....great PR....if you look behind the PR it ain't all that great.

The main issue the PR machine has is Musk can be a loose cannon. The sub was a PR stunt from day 1. It just backfired massively on the company.

All this I am sleeping at the factory blah blah blah is just to cover up the failing of the company. How many deadlines have been missed? people not allowed to buy the baseline model because they ain't making enough money etc etc....

If it was any other company people would be outraged but most people don't or won't look past the PR machine. They think Musk is a God or something. I don't see it myself personally.

I do like what Tesla are trying to do to the car industry but like Nissan I think they have missed the boat. If the Tesla 3 was available today to buy WW they would mop up. By the time they actually get it out all the other vendors will have alternative and I think they will just end up getting bought up by a GM or someone like that. Musk does not have a history of sticking it out with companies....make it stable and flog it for as much money as possible.....

The article is a little bit over the top but then most "journalism" is either over the top or paid by some company so it is just an advertisement. If you look past the obvious dislike for Musk their is some points which are correct.

I can see them, I doubt many of on here will.....how dare someone question the might Musk :-)

Subsidys going in Canada as well...

What authority does the writer have on anything? She's some hack journalist who writes nothing but fluff sensationalist pieces. Total trash journalism.

What points did she get right? I can point out the majority of which she got wrong. Trying to bash the company based on a fire death in 1 of the cars? How many people die in fire related deaths in petrol vehicles? Retarded logic. Does she not realise the Tesla cars are among the safest cars ever developed? Nah it doesn't suit her agenda.

His pedo guy comment was short sighted but who cares really. It's a throwaway "joke" comment. He should know better though. SJW's everywhere waiting to pounce on anyone saying something risque publicly.

They currently have more people looking for their deposits back than putting deposits on new ones. That can't be a good sign. 24% of model 3 customers looking for their money back.
Porsche will do damage to them yet. Sign-up is meant to be brisk for their ev.

Oh my God.....:P:P:P:P the force is strong in you

You could say selling a company for 1.5billion which is now worth over 60 billion is hardly anything to write about. It is bigger than the company that bought it....I would give the credit to ebay on that one. Also Paypal was 5 people, not just Musk....

Calling someone a pedo is not a joke....if you read he made a number of comments and would not apologize....it was only after the share dropped 2 billion and he got bad PR that he gave half an apology....are you actually serious you think it is just a joke?

Did you understand why he called him a pedo as well? he actually thought about it and came up with it so far from a throw away comment

Completely overvalued if you've shares sell them it's going to be a rough ride until 2020 with share dilution looking very possible next year. If that happens it's the beginning of the end.

Agree 100%, disgraceful comment to make but as much as there are people who hate Musk there are his fanboys who will defend or try to water down what he says. A comment like this can have serious implications for someone and comments like this have destroyed lives.

He was made apologise by investors, I bet he wouldn't have other than that.

Musk has a big mouth and I'm getting less and less impressed by his antics, ranting on like a teenager when confronted with questions he doesn't want to answer.

Yeah , I'm getting less impressed with Musk and guess what ? it's no ones fault except Musk himself.

    Bought a Tesla, new? No?

    Bought shares? No?

He doesn’t care whether you’re impressed or not. You’re a squeeky wheel, but you won’t get any of his grease.

That man is leading several companies that are changing the world for the better of all mankind.

    You just sit and bitch.

Whether Tesla survives commercially in the long term is irrelevant. He’ll have achieved what he set out to achieve by then.

Well Elon in fairness has said all along his goal is to drive an electric car revolution and to be honest I don't think he cares if Tesla fails, he'll just sell it and BMW or GM will buy it or someone else.

He's achieved nothing if he doesn't turn a profit, all I can see is him continuing to break records for burning cash and fossil fuels.
This is the guy that used rocket fuel to send an electric car to space. Yea he's doing this for mankind alright.

His Pedo comment wasn't only stupid it was disgraceful.

Disgraceful? No. It's twitter. It's Elon Musk. It's schoolyard name calling. Poor taste, but hardly an actual accusation. If it was Big Brian the Broke Bricklayer from Tyne calling Vernon a pedo, nobody would give a crap. He's an arse, but that's about all there was to the name calling.

Vernon Unsworth is a complete ****head, chock full of ego and deserved an abusive response from Musk after he behaved so rudely. The only error was in calling him a Pedo guy. There's a long, long list of 4 letter words that Unsworth ***** deserved to be called. And a few 6 letter ones also.

Yes, no other manufacturer has ever had a car go on fire

I don't like Musk as a person but that has nothing to do with me not seeing Tesla lasting long term. The quality problems, cars being made essentially outdoors, thousands of Model 3's inexplicably sitting in a field in Nevada, shaky financials and rumours of a big story breaking soon on possible fraud doesn't inspire confidence.

Is there something about people who buy second hand japanese EV's that just sticks in their throats about Tesla, Musk and all that they're going to accomplish? Seriously. It's worse than any Ford vs GM, Canon vs Nikon, Rangers vs Celtic crap you read on the interweebs. Tesla and Musk just seems to make a load of Nissan owners go frothy at the mouth and I just can't understand why.

Yeah, several follow up tweets making bets and telling people to stay tuned is hardly an accusation. Unsworth was fully justified with what he said - they were at the end of what was surely an incredibly testing and high-pressure rescue when Elon rocks up with an unusable submarine. There was no need for him to stick around when they were actively rescuing the kids.

Let him be himself. You be yourself. I expect much greater things from him than from you, or from me. On balance, it's perfectly okay with me if his screw ups are offensive to angry millenials as long as his accomplishments are great and plentiful.

The battery tech makes it more frequent than ordinary cars, there's too many examples for such a small company production wise to just brush it off. There's about 7000 mobile phone batteries in each car, hit your phone battery with a hammer and see what happens.

Agree no matter what you think of Musk the company is a risky gamble right now and explains why it's the most shorted stock out there at the moment. Earnings call should be interesting on the 1st.

Here's a list of business accomplishments:
    • Wrote the code for Zip2 which was bought during the Dot Com boom when anything with a website was automatically worth millions.
    • Started on online payments company, X.com, which was bought. He was ousted before PayPal became well known.
    • Tesla, started by two other men, has never made a profit. They've mainly gotten by on government subsidies and by selling very expensive cars to rich Californians. After 15 years of operation it commands an impressive 0.1% market share. But they can go fast.
    • SpaceX gets by with government help too. They're even using decades-old rocket technology developed by the government. It's just in new packaging.
    • The Boring Company has bored no holes, but it has sprayed it's logo on some overpriced blowtorches. Another of Musk's follies made to indulge his impractical visions.
    • As for his "genius" and "inventor" titles he has one patent to his name. It's a design patent for a car door.

Any cures for diseases? Maybe set up some free trade to better a 3rd World Country? Find a resolution to a war?

Anything you could call an accomplishment?
