Gym newbie.advice on bulking up and diet plan

    Hey guys,
    Just joined a week and have a plan done out for me for for cardio and using about 6 machines,lateral press, leg press etc.about 25kg on each.im 80.0kg, 38 male and 5f11inch tall.havnt a clue about diet plan or what to take or what i should be eating(even before or after gym).im looing to slim a bit down and gain muscle. Any advice on what to be eating etc and what plan to follow?

    Can you give a more detailed gym plan, also a daily plan of what you eat now and your stats?

    I had first session yesterday.
    10 mins on treadmill warm up
    12 x 3 reps on each machine,
    (Leg press machine, 2 x leg curl machines,chest press machine,one for lateral muscles)
    20-25 kg on each one.50kg on leg press.
    30 sec rest between each rep.
    Finish with 10 mins on treadmill or cross trainer.
    All takes an hour.

    Never really watched what im eating calorie wise but would eat healthy as i can.never ate like i should be if im working out.thats about as much of a plan as o can tell you.So im new to understanding what carbs are, protein, what i should be eating and when etc.
    Seems like a lot to be trying to figure out on what i need to eat to bulk up and build muscle.what i need is someone to say you need to eat this so many times a day etc and what is good earimg plan to go with my workimg out.
    Plan to go 3 times a week to gym.sore arms today so not sure if i should rest for a day or 2 or 3 before i go back, or should i go back after just one day(tomorrow) if arms are still a bit sore, and continue my regime, or work on treadmill and legs while arms are still sore

    can you give us an idea of what you typically eat in a day. even what you ate yesterday. just so we know, not for judging.

    the idea then is you can make small changes one step at a time. if you jump on board a brand new 'diet plan' it'll be way easier to fall off the wagon than if you do it a bit at a time

    I work shift so in work i ate 1 slice of brown bread with jam and a banana with tea no sugar at 8am for breakfast.dinner at 12 so its usually fillet of chicken with mashed potatoes and 2 veg.usually carrots, green beans.
    At home then i usually have a small bit of whatever dinner is made(trying to stop eating that lately), which could be anything.but yesterday i didnt have any. I had a 2 weetabix with warm milk followed by about 8 cherries.im drinking water throughout the day.not sure how much but its not 2 litres anyway.thats my typical day lately.
    Im trying not to have a 2nd dinner at home because i have small bit of weight on stomach and wanted to lose it .but im reading now i should be eating more to try bulk up.so u can see where im trying to understand how it all is meant to work
