Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I would have had Maone off before Galvin

F**k it, didn't need Wexford getting a goal

    Attaboy Podge, settle it down

Bad wide from Wexford, Clare really need to settle down here, we're being completely dominated at midfield and half forwards.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 407 ✭✭tipp_tipp_tipp

Crazy shooting there. All the time in the world and he drives it wide

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators Posts: 24,006 Mod ✭✭✭✭Clareman

    Another bad wide by Wexford

How in the name of god is Cathal Malone an intercounty hurler?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators Posts: 24,006 Mod ✭✭✭✭Clareman

Stay down McInerney, need to take the sting out of the game a bit Wexford are completely on top.

"This is much better from Davy Fitzgerald and his Wexford team"
Marty as they hit their 3rd wide in a row
Shooting by them has been woeful, they'd probably be winning otherwise

Puck of a ball in it!

Deserved win for Clare. Better team throughout the entire match.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 407 ✭✭tipp_tipp_tipp

All over. Better team won. Can't believe how loose the game was. Thought Wexford would keep it tight and scrappy. Gave the Clare forwards way too much time and space and they did the damage. 27 points is an impressive tally. Good to see Clare back in Croke Park. I presume that is the end of Davy's Wexford era?? He's hardly staying on another year is he??

Surely that’s the Davy experiment over in Wexford, they seem to have regressed. Incredibly average today - the goal put a gloss on score line

Tony Kelly was the difference between the teams in the first half, also shane o donnell got a few key scores.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,037 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

Conlon with an unreal score near the end. Unreal score.

Clare the better team.End of Davy Fitzgerald as Wexford manager ?.I can't see him bringing them any further.

Conor McGrath is a class act. Any chance of him starting the next day?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators Posts: 24,006 Mod ✭✭✭✭Clareman

    Surely McInerney was MotM.

I'd say Davy is finished in Wexford now.

Anyone know what red card was for in the last few minutes?

Today suited him when he came on the game was stretched. I can't see him started he has lost that yard of pace. Great sub to have

I'd say Davy will try & stay for another year in Wexford.
Dublin to be his next port of call after that??

Did davy say his usual in his post match interview ??

Davy was very close to taking the Dublin job this year. Not well known but he was going to jump ship.
Wexford forked our huge money to keep him another year.
As soon as Gilroy leaves, Davy will be in dublin for 3 years for a huge 6 figure sum.

Have to say never seen supporters treated the way the stewards in PUC handled one or two who managed to get on the pitch after the game. Disgusting stuff, particularly the way the older fella was removed.

Twas strongly rumoured about 11 months ago alright, but story seemed to die a death later.

it was the guy in the second photo we saw clearly.
What I don't get though, is how is it ok for Cork and Clare supporters to fill the field in Thurles after the Munster final, or Clare and Limerick supporters to flood the field in Ennis and elsewhere...but it not ok in Cork today and then that happens. Its either ok or its not. The GAA need to decide. There was less there today than there was in either Ennis or Thurles?

Is it just me or does one of those stewards look fair like Michael Fassbender?

Cause only Ed Sheeran is allowed on that pitch.

It's not allowed anywhere but there's common sense in most grounds, new lads in jackets thinking their bouncers, eejits, the supporters shouldn't have gone on the pitch though, rules are rules

They need to be consistent so. Those making the rules and those enforcing them on the day.

Let them be consistent in each individual ground, I think it's wonderful to see all the young people out on the pitch at half time in Thurles and Nolan Park, couldn't imagine it in many other grounds

    not a hope

after the dismal performances in this years championship he will have to stay in wexford another year and at the end of that year the wexford players will be utterly worn out unless he fundamentally changes his physical approach and gets rid of the sweeper which is a beaten docket in intercounty hurling at this point

even if he does change the sweeper it will take two years of an absolute counter revolution before the team gets it out of their system as is happening in Clare now and as he doesn't really believe in changing it in the first place.

the change will come from pressure within his management

if say Dublin Kilkenny and Galway are next years qualifiers we will have pressure on in Clare for him to get a role in the underage system I suspect
