Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    That's an unbelievably goal. Amazing.

Great finish but the Donegal defence opened up like the Red Sea.

    Great response.

    How many steps was that??

Goal chance is the difference Dublin got theres, Donegal didn't unfortunately.

    Well I rewound it.

Donegal player ran towards him and McCauley was trying to run around him as donegal player sort of lunged towards his shoulder. Not sure what else McCauley could of done to avoid him.

He took a little jump straight into him. Ref was right to give it, even if there's nothing he can do.

Game changing moments there, Donegal miss great chance, ruin then get a goal.

Some great long distance point taking.

    Hitchcock 39.

This all just feels like a waste of time.

Even if Dublin lose it doesn't change things. They'll still make the semis.

Even if Donegal win, it doesn't change things. They still need to beat Tyrone to make the semis.

Gone are the days of tipp making the semis ever again.

If Donegal are going to launch long balls into the square surely they need Murphy in there.

Donegal player lunged towards him at the angle McCauley was trying to get around him. If a player jumps at you, they are the one committing the foul.

6 or 7 I think, though it looked more initially.

The advantage rule is horrifically applied, not just in this game but over many matches, like the Meath-Tyrone qualifier where it was never given then here when it was questionably denied.

Donegal player didn't jump at him though, ran to him to make a tackle.

Ref made a mess of that penalty call for Donegal anyway

This swarm defence and run on the break by Donegal is suicidal. Cant see them doing this for 70 minutes.

Very odd they didn't get the free after only a few seconds advantage there. Though Murphy made sure it didn't matter, class kick.

Kilkenny got his down the other end.

Thought the Dublin number 2 should have had a black card early that everyone seemed to miss. Dragged a player down by the neck.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,286 ✭✭✭seligehgit

    Very enjoyable fare.

Decent shout for a Donegal penalty.

Patton's short kickouts are very dicey.

Donegal as pukey as ever, but a good test all the same. Interesting game.

Yeh ref did make a balls of that peno for donegal.

But you are wrong on the McCauley incident. I rewound it several times and the donegal player angles into mccauley to make contact.Mccauley jumped to protect himself not to charge. Had McCauley gotten around him he was through on goal...

That Brennan lad at corner forward for Donegal need to score those goal chances

Fitsiommons . Yes off the ball too
    Automatic black
It was picked up by accident on rte replay of a score

Dublin look rusty. Donegal should have at least 4-5 points more. Very poor when they work hard to create chances.

Dublin are looking suspect on that angled high ball in. It's only a matter of time until the goals come.

Enjoying this. Nice to get a test in at this stage of the championship. Finally. Game between Donegal and Tyrone in Ballybofey is gonna be a humdinger.

As was the punch to mdma's throat.

Canning ignored it. Mind you he is your typical clueless cliche driven commentator.

Donegal player went to shoulder him, same as anyone would. Jumping to protect yourself, fair enough stance but as commentators said, was lifting the arm too. No foul by Donegal any wau

It's rarely called anyway. I thought he overdid it there, but looks ok on the replay (even if not technically legal).

I’m delighted to see Dublin get a game. They have plenty to work on. As others have said donegal could have more, Dublin might have more so Gavin has plenty to work with on both ends.

I’m concerned that there hasn’t been the same “pass it to make sure score” ethos that used to be always evident in previous Dublin teams. O Callaghan’s through run on goal sticks out. He wasn’t totally wrong to shoot but I’ve seen Dublin teams the last few years where players gave the pass in those kind of positions. He has rock beside him who would of had a tap in!!!

I agree with Joe Brolly about Micheal Murphy, crazy having him wandering aimlessy out the field.

This Croke park stage looking like a farce crowds wise. 4 teams and it's 2/3 filled. Tomorrow will be empty unless half of kildare decide to rock up.
