My only chance to work out is from 2 until 6 so it's at peak temperaturea. Have done a bit of dumbbell stuff at home ( have one room which is a bit cooler) but my gym has no air con and a metal roof so it's like an oven. Do some gyms have air con or in Ireland is that a far fetched notion? Thinking might join another one when current membership runs out.

I got a burn off the heating pipe in the gym yesterday...

    But yes, I've been training.

Yes. Gym has no aircon either but has big doors which are constantly open these days. Not much use when there's no breeze though. They have some fans but you need to be standing right in front of one to get any benefit.

I mainly work out in the morning, which is still hot. A few times recently, I've had to go at lunch and it's awful.

I don't know if I find it worse training in the heat.

Sweatier but can't say I find it worse.

Temperatures creep above 30 abd the country falls apart.
Seen some lunatic warning people that the petrols tanks could explode in you fill them in that heat :pac:

Gym has aircon which works reasonably well most of the time. Spinning studio does not however :eek::eek: And definitely makes it feel tougher when humidity is high

    Still training.

    More water, weather appropriate attire.

    No real difference IMO.

Still training, 7.30am to make it a bit easier, gym hasnt ac, wearing light gear, loads of water, telling myself im getting a "high on sweat" vibe! Some days though it's just a non-runner, energy sapping, longer to recover.....I wouldnt let one abnormal heatwave change my gym membership though if I was happy otherwise.

Yup, Judo a number of times a week. But I've almost totally avoided the gym.

Mostly running (parks and beach), and I've a decent set of kettlebells and TRX in my back garden which I use year round, hail, rain, sun and snow I'll be put my back training.

I'll be back on the treadmill when the weather turns or swimming when injury prevents me doing much else.

Gym is a warehouse so freezing in winter, boiling during heatwave. I've still been working out, just sweat an awful lot more so I just have to watch my salt intake a bit.

I was very smug and worked out a few times while away in Spain. Way more people going for runs while on hols/ working out in the hotel gym compare to even a few years ago. It was great to see.

Yep, Making efforts to train at 6/7am before the temperatures really rise. But there’s been quite a few sweaty evenings too! There’s been no air con in any of the gyms I’ve ever trained in... maybe a fan or 2

The treadmills in Ben Dunnes Northwood have fan's, but I'm one of those people who covers the clocks with a towel when I train. So I don't get the benefit of the fan :(

I can't use the treadmill for too long without losing the will to live, so I cover the clocks so I'm not counting down the time.

The majority of my running is outdoors, just stick on the headphones and run. I check my heart rate and adjust my pace accordingly.

I die of boredom on the treadmill so I'd rather just run until I feel the machine begin its cool down.

I mix both up with Fartlek training, but on the treadmill I imagine my Judo competitions and strategy.. Or other people around me, you see some mad sh*t in a gym lol
