Not really, you should spend more that tge price of a trip to physio on your chair if you have back issues. If its lumbar support you need then people in my office seem to be most happy with the chairs with inflatable lumbar support

I wouldn't bother with this. Viking have misprices which they don't honour.

This week it was an airconditioning unit on their UK site. Complained to them but no dice.

Scroll down the page in the OP's link and you will see an option to add a Fellowes Back Rest. Brings the price up to almost €49.00

Don't cheap out on items you spend a lot of time in, beds, chairs and couches.

Get a Hermin Miller or Steelcase etc, basically adjustable at every point. your back will thank you decades from now

Still have mine as a secondary chair. I found it lost its softness after a while and i can get a pain in my tailbone from sitting on it for extended periods but that happens me with less cushioned chairs. Its a steal at this price.

hope not anyways as iv ordered x3 of them.

Whilst I agree (home office has a Aeron and office office has a steel case) I’d say the majority of people here would be buying these for recreational use 3-5 hours a week maybe for study or light touch computer work.

If you’re planning to spend more than 20 hours a week in this chair I would suggest against it.

I bought one many years ago, they're grand for occasional use but not for regular office use

I ordered this. Got the paypal receipt and an email from Viking but it's not showing up in the "my orders" section of their site.

    Anyone having a similar issue?

Same, and tried searching by order number to no avail. Though the chair is still up at that price, so possibly a glitch in orders?

They were actually a little cheaper when everyone in bargain alerts went mad for them about 10 years ago, they were 29.99 :) but I'm ordering this bad boy even if he's cream.

I still use mine as a my PC chair at home 10 years later. An absolute trojan

Mine shows in my order history now. Not sure when it's actually going to ship.

The Ikea Markus is probably the best budget chair you can get

Weekend orders should deliver tomorrow (Tues) - unlikely "furniture" exception applies:

Had one of these for years but my back would be killing me after any prolonged use, switched to a "gamer" chair and no more back pain. Chair served it's purpose well though

One thing to remember about viking direct is you'll need a second recycle bin.

God bless them, they do love their love their catalogues and they seem to update them fairly regularly......

Indeed, a decent enough chair, though for me, I preferred the Nominell, which was good for my gammy spine. Sadly, it has changed now and has a mesh back, so not sure how good it is for support now.

Anyone get a dispatch email yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,970 ✭✭✭jonerkinsella

I got 5 sent to my mothers house in Dublin. She just received them.

She got a call at 8am this morning from the courier to confirm.

That's the family sorted with office chairs for a while anyway.

    Thanks op.

I won't hold my breath for order fulfillment as I only ordered at 3 pm yesterday. Id say I missed the boat on this one

    recieved mine today

When did you order yours if you don't mind me asking?

I ordered mine 9th July at 16.30 so not holding out too much hope at this stage, as it should have been delivered today, but my order is still showing as "confirmed" no sign of a dispatch email or anything as of yet and now the chairs are "temporarily unavailable"

Mine arrived at lunch time today, ordered on Saturday or Sunday. Good quality, I've spent double on inferior s/h chairs in the past. Thanks OP.

Just rang Viking again now. Initially, on Tuesday I was told they were on back order and would be in this week, the guy now told be the date for backorder is 15th October .
He then proceeded to tell me that I can give you a black chair which is in stock for the same price as you paid for the cream one.

Maybe that will be the same if you ring up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,809 ✭✭✭Bawnmore
