You should have walked or cycled it would have been healthier and quicker. 4.8km is nothing

I needed my car during work

You could have left it at work and walked. Saved alot of time

I have worked all over dublin. Some of my travel times within Dublin have been an hr. I can do an hr each way for a better life for my family

I didn't read the entire thread, but saw Gorey and Riverchapel being mentioned.
I have done the Riverchapel to M50 junction 11 plenty of times, and in the dead of night with nothing on the road, more or less at the speed limit all the way, it takes 50 minutes either way guaranteed.
I imagine with commuter traffic you could easily add 20 minutes or more to the same journey.
Hope the plan work, best of luck.

X2 move closer to work. Is it that difficult

It is if your place of work(not employer) changes every 1-2 yrs.
So yes, it is that difficult to move closer to where I work this month?

    Thanks for your invaluable input

Driving and hour to work each day is a waste of ones time. Two hours a day
I have to agree. I could not stand more than 30 mins commuting. I would change career, job or location if I was doing more than an hour in the car every day.
I lived in Dublin for 4 years but left as soon as we started a family. Never looked back.

I've gotten some great feedback and ideas of what to do. Thanks all.

@mods - you can close this if you want before it descends into muddy waters.

    Mod note

In light of smart remark comments, poster attacks (instead of a attacking the post) and the fact the OP has got the info required.

Thread will be closed to avoid a spiral into mayhem.
