Satellite receiver using Sky dish - no signal

I recently purchased a satellite receiver box and hooked it up using cable already connected to an old sky dish ( dish about 2 years old )
To see if it would work I connected it upstairs and all the Uk Channels appeared . Since I moved my set up to the living room I can’t get any signal . I have literally brought the same cable into a different room . I’ve checked connections etc and can’t see any obvious problem . The Irish Channels are working ok via an aerial connection . I guess that rules out a faulty box ? The box I bought has the Channels pre loaded .
Anyone any ideas ? I really don’t want to start playing around with the dish alignment as I doubt it could have moved in the space of a few hours ..

    Thanks

My guess would be that you've upset a connection: I assume moving the cable didn't involve rough treatment or joining an extra length?

Hi Thurston. I didnt add extra length but was an effort to get it through upper floor / ceiling . Cable damage internally possible ? No obvious damage on outer . Wouldn’t have pulled at dish connection as loads of cable

I guess there is now way of checking with my old sky box ? To see if it’s the dish feed or the sat receiver ...

The free channels will still work on the Sky box (BBCs, ITVs etc.), if you want to try it.
