Severe personality changes during period?

    Hi Ladies!

First of all I just want to state I am not looking for medical advice, I was just wondering if what I'm experiencing is abnormal and if so what route I should take to fix it.

For the past few months I have been experiencing severe personality changes during the week of and the week before my period...

Some of the things I experience include:

Binging. I am not talking about eating a bar of chocolate, I am talking about eating whole pizzas, cakes etc all at once and all by myself.

Spending sprees: I'm a very financially aware person and track all my expenses, I have noticed that during my period I go on sprees where I spend hundreds of euro on things I don't need nor ever use (I end up giving most of the stuff away once I snap out of it)

Getting Angry/Suicidal: Finally and the most damaging to me is my mood, I get angry at people even if I don't talk to them. I will message people all of a sudden telling them horrible horrible things. I can't put into words how this makes me feel once I come to my senses. It leaves me so confused and upset at myself because I would never do that, I can't even understand how someone can say those things even though I did it. I also feel extremely suicidal and think of myself doing it and how it would feel...it is honestly horrible.

As you guys can imagine this is severely impacting my life, During the weeks of "freedom" that I have my life is fine. I get on well with others, my friends would say that I am the most understanding person and always trying to help everyone. I save up a lot, I enjoy myself. But every night I go to bed dreading that time of the month and just worrying about how I'm going to destroy my life further.

I'm sick of this but don't know what to do. It feels abnormal to me but then again I don't know what other women experience during TOM...
Is there anything I can do at all? GP? Wellwoman?
    I'm just really lost :(

Thank you so much in advance for any advice and I am so so sorry for the long post!

We can’t offer medical advice here. Your best place to start would be your GP.

    Best of luck.
