    Hey All,

I’m looking for somewhere that offers strongman training like battle ropes, Bulgarian bag, farmers walks etc in North Dublin (ideally around Dublin bay north)

    Can anyone recommend anywhere please?

    Appreciate it

    Thanks all

There’s plenty of classes that claim to do it but when you turn up they just get you to deadlift fast or superset squats and barbell curls real fast.

I’ve never actually came across an actual strongman place but to be honest seeing actual strongmen training through YouTube over the years most of their training seems to be powerlifting and eating. I’d say you’d have to go to America if you want to put a rope in your gob and drag a truck up and down a runway.

James fenelly in Kilkenny has a place so I’m sure there’s a place in Dublin too.

they are few and far between ... I know of a few places around the country but none in dublin ..you'd be better off contacting a few of the stongmen competitors and see where they train ... many of them have their own facilities .. so not really commercial gyms.

the equipment that most strength gyms would be lacking would be Yokes, stones, bags, car frames, axel bars and logs

Vytautas Lalas used to be involved in Animal Barbell out in Coolmine... think he since opened his own place in Kilkenny but they might still have the training kit out there.

Southside Gym in Sandyford also worth checking out I know the previous incarnation (Ironside) had loads of strongman kit they prob took it with them.

I haven't been there in almost two years but they did have strongman equipment. It wasn't used so was stacked away in a corner, the last I saw. Saw atlas stones and a platform, at least.

I was in animal barbell once a few months back. There was a partitioned area near the front with a sign saying something like "please ask before using strongman equipment". Got the impression that people do train with it but it's locked away so any old fool doesn't hurt themselves.
