The “take a completely standard 2.0 auto and stick a load of tat on it” edition.

    Wasn’t very popular!

Porsche may have inadvertently had a hand in the gearbox design though, I think it’s a version of the INVECS Mitsubishi gearbox from the early 90s that’s in them.

it's definitely aftermarket badge, as well as shark fin antennas on rear wings :D you can see original emblems embroidered on the seats, that's a proper badge on them cars

I don't know what is more disturbing, the look of it or that the seller thinks he will get anywhere near 22k for it.

Look how close the alloy wheel is to the brake disc bracket. Alloy wheels flex while driving a little bit and there is very little wiggle room there.

She's a UK import, no tax tested until Aug 20and there's an Irish insurance alert category C

Category C: The vehicle is repairable but the parts and labour would exceed the value of the car.
A Category C is repairable salvage.
Usually applies to vehicles with significant damage and where the cost of repairs exceeds the book value.
The Motor Insurers Anti-fraud and Theft Register (MIAFTR) defines Category C as repairable total loss vehicles where
repair costs including VAT exceed the vehicle’s pre-accident value (PAV)

Apologies I misread no tax as no test. Have edited original post

A good straight one, well minded and with reasonable miles, MIGHT make that money. A Cat C - no chance!

Engine rebuild also turns me off. Shouldn't be necessary for a well minded car with that mileage.

I wonder if the Cat C is related to the rear subframe cracking that was seen on this model. Engine rebuild may to also related to the rod bearing issues on this engine.

Too much risk buying one of these cars which is a pity as its the last inline 6 na M3.

If they leave it there long enough it might be worth the asking price.

There isn’t an insurance company in the land that’ll entertain that.
