I'm looking at buying some equipment from fitnesssquipmentireland. They have a trap bar for sale in three different sizes as follows.
    https://www.fitnessequipmentireland.ie/shop/trap-bar

Available in the following sizes: 1.4M, 1.8M AND 2.2M Hexagonal Frame
    Durable and Robust
    Dimensions

    1.4m: 24cm sleeves | 61cm internally handle to handle

    1.8m: 29cm sleeve | 71cm internally handle to handle

    2.2m*: 35cm sleeve | 72cm internally handle to handle

My question is would the biggest be the best one to get. I'm 6'0 and about 175lbs if that makes a difference. Also would these weights fit on it, i'm assuming they would. https://www.fitnessequipmentireland.ie/shop/160kg-cast-iron-plate-set-7ft-olympic-bar

    Hey,
I think the biggest I'd the best. I made my own trap bar. Can look for dimensions for you if you like. Slightly taller but alot heavier.

Don't buy new weight plates. Look up DoneDeal or Adverts. Get very good plates for good money on it. Especially if near Dublin. You want to buy Olympic plates with a two inch hole. That's the standard for lifting really.

    Eg: https://touch.adverts.ie/weights/olympic-weight-plates/15651855

Not recommending these, just highlighting other options. You could also treat yourself to bumpers. Plates made of rubber..

If you keep an eye on those sites, you could also pick up a used trap bar.

The smaller plates with the one inch hole are really only for rigging up spinlock dumbbells.

    Hope that helps.

The biggest because it has the longest sleeves. Leaves you more scope for adding weight. You could probably get 2 more 20kg plates on each end of the 2.2 than the 1.4.

Assuming youre using cast iron plates and not bumpers.
