I'm on my hols from work atm :) and so I had time to just relax outside on Monday. I started to notice something very peculiar going on in the sky.
Monday morning was beautiful and warm with a clear blue sky but from about nine o'clock onwards certain planes were leaving really long exhaust trails behind them, like the whole length of the sky from one horizon to the other (not all planes, some of them were just leaving normal short trails that disappeared quickly)

Anyway the long trails would slowly expand outwards and turn into an ugly hazy looking cloud... (when I was a chiseller we would spend ages lying back looking at the clouds and aeroplanes during the summer hols but I had never seen anything like this before).
This carried on all day and by about one o'clock the whole sky was pretty much covered with these artificial clouds. Bye bye Mr blue sky :(.

I searched a bit online and found this cool site that lets you view NASA satellite pictures daily, you can zoom in and out and move around the globe; here is the link to the photos for Monday the 25th the day in question
    https://zoom.earth/#53.455349,-7.976074,6z,sat,pm,2018-06-25
You will see clearly what I'm on about.

There's also a little control panel on the left of the screen that lets you choose between days, if you go to the 26th ie yesterday, when I didn't notice any of these shenanigans in the sky you can see that Ireland is as clear as a bell.

I've heard bits and pieces about chemtrails; some people say it's metal chaff and ash being dropped from planes to try and combat global warming and some think that they're caused by metal powder added to certain brands of jet fuel (BP for one) to improve performance and save money. Is this what I was seeing on Monday? Did any of you happen to notice these strange shenanigans in the sky?

Why would shananigans take place on one day but not another, and why only over the east coast? Notice the straight line south-north which runs over the Irish sea? Looks like an error, sometimes in the met-ie rainfall radar you see odd artefacts.

There's a ramp that was re-surfaced on my road 3 weeks ago that's still there 'yesterday' on that map. Also, I can think of few better ways to destroy an engine than adding metal to the fuel going through it.

:P I posted there originally but a couple of attack dogs went for me.

I was one of the "attack dogs". Nobody "went for you" or attacked you or called you a liar.

You claimed that we can all see that these clouds are artificial. We asked you how to tell. You told us to go outside and see for ourselves. We asked you once again how to tell a natural cloud from an artificial one.

    You responded with:
I'll let yisser in on a secret lads; I couldn't give a fiddlers who believes me or not. I came on this thread to share my story not to waste time chasing me tail with contrarions.

I'll try to ask you again in here - when I go out and look at the sky, how will I know if a cloud is artificially created?

OP it is the same here on the west Mayo coast as planes fly out over the Atlantic .

When I did my pilot course, one of the first lessons was about types of clouds. There's a lot of different types, set in different heights and behaving differently. They're all natural. I've been looking at clouds since and I have yet to see one that goes against the laws of nature.

Chemtrails is a load of b*llocks.

However, depending on conditions in the upper athmosphere, sometimes planes leave no condensation trail at all, sometimes you see a really short and fleeting one, sometimes a thin trail will hang around for minutes or even hours and sometimes a condensation trail will "seed" a cloud formation that builds over the day. In these conditions, with enough planes going over, you can soon have almost complete (if hazy) cloud cover above you.

So yes..sometimes planes going over turn the sky cloudy but it's not intentional or caused by the lizards (or whoever)

From all the people that would be involved in planning chemtrail deployments, it’s mad that no-one has every spoken out. The people involved in manufacturering, planning their use, loading them in planes, the pilots involved, there’s never been a whisper of a whistle-blower. It’s almost like it’s a load of nonsense.

But look at the satellite pic here https://zoom.earth/#53.278353,-6.350098,6z,sat,pm,2018-06-25
If those are normal condensation trails caused by planes flying over Ireland then it follows that there were absolutely no planes in the air anywhere else in the world.
Was all air traffic grounded on Monday apart from over Ireland and a small portion of the US

You'd be right if you assumed that the atmospheric conditions were the same all over the world.

    But they're not....so you're wrong

Ok, answer my question then. I asked a few times, so did other posters.

How to tell an artificial cloud from a natural one?

I made it bold for you so you don't miss it this time. I'm obviously looking at clouds wrong when I believe that they're natural. Even when I go out and look up, I see nature.

Please open my eyes and tell me how to tell the difference.

Athmospheric conditions aren't uniform for the whole planet (or the whole country for that matter)

    EDIT:
Athmospheric conditions aren't even the same in the same patch of sky at different altitudes. We live under a fairly busy flight path and sometimes you can watch two planes going over almost simultaneously ...but because they are at staggered heights for safety reasons, one might show a short trail while the other doesn't.

I'd imagine that once you get closer to ground level and break through the cloud cover they just re-use the same picture to save money.

The high aeriel shots are accurate and updated daily though.
Here's another NASA website showing Ireland on Monday

The pictures showing the cloud cover are actual real time satellite imagery from meteorological satellites such as Meteosat.

Once you go closer in they replace it with aerial photography, the same as used by Google/Bing maps etc. which is usually taken from low flying aircraft not satellites and is therefore only valid for the day the imagery was taken.

This though is not really about clouds but about contrails behaving oddly. Many times this while I have seen what the OP describes and then today a normal contrail emphasized the difference.

    There really is a difference.

Just like clouds, contrails behave differently in different atmospheric conditions. Two contrails can behave differently while being in the sky at the same time, it depends on their position.

Please tell me how vapour trails can 'seed' a cloud formation that isn't there? Like I said before there wasn't a single cloud in the sky. The fume trails from the planes created enough artificial cloud to fill a completely clear sky in a matter of hours.
