Looking for a Student to draw maps

I'm currently researching a historical period with a view to publishing (modest distribution). I will need simplistic maps to include if I get that far, but from what I've been told by others who have previously published, the cost of getting a qualified cartographer to do this would be astronomical and way out of my budget.

Having played around with the freely available rudimentary graphics on the net, I'm satisfied that someone (preferably a cash-poor student) who has access to a more cutting edge design packages could do an acceptable job for a fair price.
So I'm looking for advice on where to best to advertise to find the right person. Thanks
