Just seen that, curious that it's in what I like to call "picture frame" ratio

It’s coming up encrypted for me I would have thought it would ha e gone on the same transponder as all the other Ch5/spike channels

    Yes, now showing encrypted.
The initial free-to-air tests have now been replaced by encrypted tests. The service is available at the following location on satellite:

Paramount Network will launch on Sky channel 159 and channel 57 on Freeview and platforms that piggyback on the terrestrial service. At the present time, Paramount Network isn't due to launch on Freesat.

Another for the FTA favourites list.

Why are they bypassing Freesat?. That platform seems to be falling out of favour, is there a reason?

Probably they see insufficient return for the cost, particularly when compared to other competing schemes.

Aww damn. I was really looking forward to this on Freesat

A bit of bad news for Freesat users. The 'TBC' for Freesat was removed from the C5 Website.

It continues FTA which is the main thing. :D

After a post on the "talk to" section, this now seems to be gone from the Irish epg. Gone from mine and from the sky plus app.

    Yes. Only in Ireland however.

Typical sky charge the Irish more for a lot less content

Not Sky’s fault. As a free to air service it’s not part of the Sky package. Has to want to be (and pay to be) on the Sky’s EPG in Ireland and obviously they don’t want to be.

So Sky UK have channel 159?

Yes. It is also available on Sky's freesat service. An activated Sky card (available online) confirms this.

Yeah, Sky Ireland customers aren't missing out on much here. Like, it's nice to have new channels on FTA but, like most satellite channels, Paramount is 90% shyyyyte.

It might well be so to you and even me, but its content does get watched by a considerable number of people.
So regardless what we might think of its content it is a welcome additional channel for many.

Ah yeah, I'm getting it for free so I ain't complaining - but the absence of this from the Sky Ireland EPG is not something that changes the value proposition of Sky.

If you do not value sport offerings, I doubt there is much value (other than convenience) in a Sky subscription. ;)

if you have a freesat box channel 132

We don’t drag up old threads, particularly for a channel which no longer really exists in the form it was launched in.
