Iuric makes his way to the North exit trying to avoid the fungus if where possible.

"I'd heard legend this is how Orcs came to be but Dwarves, this is new."
He enters a bare cave. With nothing but the usual stalactites and stalagmites. However he gets a strange feeling from the place.

"I know it lad, the runes are a magical incantation to take anything you know about the elves and use it to focus your hate onto them. One of the Masters better inventions.

By the way, the Master, where did you hear about her?"

He says the final word with an unusual tone.

"An old man upstairs and a ghost called khorzinz talked about her."

When he hears Khorzinz mentioned he relaxes.

"Tell Khorzinz when you see him to stop messing about with human recruits. The master is a lad, my lad. Though I know it can be hard to tell our genders apart for you lot"

Iuric uses his divine sense in the cave.

The cave contains five consecrated chests, hidden by an occluding spell. He can see them easily now.

Iuric checks the chests for markings or warnings and if there isn't any he opens them.

He reaches a wall that pulls open as he steps on the final step. He stands now just outside the room where he fought the armoured dwarves. The corpse of the one he killed still lying there, the other gone.

Vrakrash puts the leg of the case down on the last step and enters the room again. He looks behind him to see if the wall stays open.

If so, he searches the corpse for anything unusual or valuable.

Nobby checks the study for exits other than the way he entered.
"what can you tell me about the magic lady in the summoning circle in the southeast room?"

The first three chests contain gold and jewels worth about 400GP in total, in particular a very valuable sapphire necklace.

The fourth chest contains an ancient dwarven armoured breast plate.

The fifth chest contains a scroll with a spell inscribed in ancient dwarven runes.

    The wall remains open.

Searching the corpse he manages to extract the healing juice from a tank in the armour. It's about a quarter full, enough for three mouthfuls.

"A nasty piece of work that one, that's the problem with you humans, you have magic powers that verge into godhood, very dangerous.

She was part of an old adventuring party, when she found out what we were up to, she wanted to stop us. We trapped her instead and now use her latent energy for our own ends."

    OOC:
Evade, as the original campaign was based on 1E where mechanically humans have greater magical potential than other races, this fact was built into the world. I've transferred this over to 5E as the existence of certain human only high level spells for Wizards.

'Mmmm, the juice of a dead dwarf. My parents would be proud.'

Vrakrash takes one sip and puts the remaining container in his backpack.

Then he heads for the door he was planning to examine before he was rudely interrupted by armor clad dwarves.

"The rightful owners of this place said we could take anything we found and I could help people with this wealth" Iuric rationalises to himself as he takes the gold, jewels, and necklace. "I'll see what Hurguil makes of these Dwarven items too" he takes the scroll and breastplate.

OOC: Is the cave a dead end?

Varkrash steps into a room that is completely bare except for a square area covered by a cloth, along with a message written in large dwarvish runes.

The cloth is held in place by clamps.

Looking around Iuric sees no way out, save the way he came in from the fungal room.

Vrakrash opens his backpack and takes out one of his less valuable gems.

He tosses it onto the cloth and steps back.

If nothing happens, he will examine the dwarven runes, although he probably won't be able to comprehend them.

There is a hard metallic thud as they hit the cloth.

The dwarven runes are utterly incomprehensible to Vrakrash.

    Vrakrash shrugs.

    'Figures.'

He tries to remove one of the clamps of the cloth with the tip of his scimitar

The clamp, one of four, comes free easily. Vrakrash sees a light briefly flicker under the cloth.

Iuric heads back to the mushroom cave and takes the Eastern exit staying as clear of the mushroom Dwarves as possible.

Vrakrash carefully removes the other three clamps using the same method. He picks his gem up from the cloth before doing so however and puts it back in his backpack, without stepping on or touching the cloth if possible.

OOC: If not possible, forget the gem, I have a stockpile :pac:

He enters a small cavern with a statue of a tall spindly figure, identical to the one in the shrine, carved out of a stalagmite.

There is an exit to the East.

Undoing all the clamps, the glow becomes incredibly bright and permanent, filtered through the cloth it gives the room a red glow.

He retrieves the gem easily enough.

Iuric spends a few minutes taking a good look at the statue from multiple angles before leaving through the Eastern exit.

The being looks decidedly alien, the eyes are deep sunk and a certain elasticity in the limbs is suggested by one arm being longer than the other.

Entering the cavern, he finds a being exactly like the statue describes, slumbering next to a lake of lava. It is about five times the height of Iuric.

It quickly jumps awake and rotates itself to look at Iuric, saying something in dwarvish in a very soft calm voice.

Vrakrash uses his axe and scimitar as a type of pincers to ensnare a piece of the cloth. Once he has done so he pulls the cloth back from the bright glow and backs towards the door.

    "Thanks"
Nobbys exits study the way he came in and reenter the SE room with the magic woman.

"I'd like to set you free, what do i have to do to set you free?"
