Humax Foxsat receiver won't pick up Sky signal

I had my own dish with a Humax pulling in all channels OK.
Then I removed my own dish and got a sky dish installed in its place.
The Sky Q box is receiving its signals fine.

But when I plug the sky coax into my Humax I cant tune in to anything.
Neither the FTA or freesat options work.
Message on screen says invalid post code.
I've tried various valid post codes found on this forum including the one that was previously working and still nothing.

Incidentally my Humax box 's last update was 2012.
It was a second hand box i got from adverts a few years ago.
Could it simply be that my Humax box was faulty all the time being unable to update or am I missing something?

Don't think Freesat works with the sky Q lnb or something like that. Vaguely remember that you might need a hybrid lnb which will provide for sky and Freesat

As above, SkyQ LNB on the dish isn't compatible with the Freesat box, the installer would've installed a SkyQ/Freesat compatible 6 output Hybrid LNB if you'd have asked

See here https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=106898309, you might be able to get the installer back to upgrade the LNB.

Thanks for the replies. I'll upgrade the lnb.
Any ideas on why my Humax won't update?

What is the model no.? Has there been an update made available by Humax for the box since 2012?
Humax launched their new Freesat Freetime internet connected boxes back in 2012 so it may no longer be supported.

Not sure of the model no.
    Last update was 2012.

The only lettering on the front are Humax Foxsat HDR and Freesat+

Theres a sticker on the bottom with Foxsat - HDR/gb and the digits 7104408 and 63710440803826
    and a Mac Address

    That must be it thanks.
Lesson to be learned: Buying a unit second hand from unscrupulous sellers on adverts neglecting to disclose everything. ie obsolete units

The seller may not have been aware themselves. I have 2 old Freesat SD zapper boxes from the beginning and I assume they haven't had a software update in many many years but still going Ok.

Are you having problems with your box that you require an update. Freetime boxes were the next generation in 2012. The next generation is in development as we speak, including support for wideband LNBs like SkyQ's IIRC.

When do you think the new generation boxes will be on the shelves?

I haven't seen a date, maybe late this year or 2019.
