    My car was clamped last Monday. I think it was unfair so I will like to hear some opinions. The reason for clamp was parking opposite continuous white line. There are three lanes on my opinion.

    Pics following.

    I have emailed garda and RSA.

    Also got email from DCCpp

    All opinions will be really appreciated.

    Except if you work for DCCPp and you clamp car illegally.
    Why they are allowed to put a clamp if they are not police?? Do they have the knowledge to apply any law?

    Traffic tickets and clamps are applied under bylaws, which allows civilians to apply said bylaws. The staff engaged in issuing tickets and clamps are generally permitted to undertake such work as "authorised persons".

    Like all authorised licenced motorists knowing the rules about not parking opposite solid white lines?

    Sorry but in urban areas if there is a withe line but there more than two lanes you're allowed.
    Traffic road act 1997.
    36. (1) Save as otherwise provided for in these Regulations and subject to article 5, a vehicle shall not be parked on a public road at a location, in a manner or for a purpose referred to in this article.
    Prohibitions on Parking

    36. (1) Save as otherwise provided for in these Regulations and subject to article 5, a vehicle shall not be parked on a public road at a location, in a manner or for a purpose referred to in this article.

    (2) A vehicle shall not be parked—

    ( a ) on that side of a section of roadway along the edge of which traffic sign number RRM 008 [double yellow lines] has been provided;

    ( b ) on a section of roadway where traffic sign number RUS 019 [No Parking sign] has been provided, during the period indicated on the information plate accompanying such traffic sign;

    ( c ) within 5 metres of a road junction;

    ( d ) on a section of roadway with less than 3 traffic lanes and where traffic sign number RRM 001 [continuous white line] has been provided;

    There you go. I can park

    Clonliffe road.

    Big road, you'll need to show us exactly.

    You sure it wasn't for parking some other way?

    Clonliffe is two lanes with the odd filter lane.

    Just had a browse down Clonliffe road and from what I can tell the only places there are continuous white lines is around the junctions and there are double yellow lines on either side of the road?
    (it's possible I missed something though of course)

    When you pass the Mather DEI institute about 100 metres further there is a junction. There are two lanes in one side of the road . You can keep straight or turn right to the junction. There is another lane in the opposite direction.

    If anyone can pot it I'm not allowed I'm a new member
