So the Eurovision semi final qualifying rounds start tonight and im excited.

I know a lot of people give the competition a hard time but its stupid and crap in a fun way that I really enjoy and think a lot of people are missing out on by trying to be "cool" and really unnecessarily hating on it, like what did it ever do to you I ask?

With a couple of drinks on board it can be great fun to rip the piss out of.

    Am I alone?

Will you be watching Eurovision this year 37 votes

Ill be watching, its stupid harmless fun

Prob watch the Irish entry and the voting in the final, that's the best part of it all. Few drinks & that in the background will do

I won't be watching it because I am an intellectual and above that sort of frivolous nonsense. I will, however, be telling anyone who'll listen that I won't be watching it because I want them to know that I'm an intellectual and above that sort of frivolous nonsense.

Anyway, it clashes with Holby City.

I would watch it only I've something else on so I'll be missing it. Why couldn't we have been in Thursday's semi final?!! :pac: :pac:

Might just catch the end of it.

I assume our entrant is called Ryan?

It is fun, we can all in Europe have a laugh at each other and enjoy it for what it is, harmless fun.

I might watch, it is a bit of craic but the standard and style of music in it really puts me off. They seem to focus on cheesy pop and ballad, and actually lately more so on the lights and fireworks of the show rather than the music. It irks me but I'll probably watch anyway lol

It has grown on me a little since I heard it first. Haven't heard the other semi finalists though so have no idea what they're like (apart from Israel above who are actually in our semi final.)

Sorry, won't be able to watch it, I'm afraid.

I've got some paint drying that I want to watch instead.

Watching it. Was brought up in simpler times when it was all about Ireland v England (yes, I know it's UK but not in our house) 🀣🀣

Only worth watching for the snide comments of the presenters.

4 female presenters? Where is the equality

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,293 ✭✭✭✭Mint Sauce

Well had enough of BBC4s Ryland and Scott Mills within 10 seconds, so off to Marty Weelan on RTE. Might as well make some use of the Licence Fee.

I thought it would be Mr Norton but when I heard those two I had to go back to Marty

I won't be watching, but I will check in here at some point to see people pretend to be horrified when Graham Norton says "we" in regards to the UK entry.

"Did he just? No, he couldn't have. He f*cking did you know. Well I never."

    Get over it.

It is a bit odd actually.. I mean it's the eurovision, could they not have a gay fella up there too? It's like we want to pander/be correct, but not too much

Meh. Thought the Ireland entry was week. Of that lot, Austria is way out ahead. Israel comedy act shouldn't have made it, awful stuff.
