Hi lads. I recently purchased racing tyres - 25cm - for my hybrid bike. But the ride is so bumpy and jolty I feel I should go for a wider tyre. What size do ppl think would be minimum for a Giant Expression dx? Expensive mistake btw , the new tyres and tubes were 100 eu😨

What kind of surface are you on. Is it a rough tarmac, trail or grass track?

I'd be on rural roads. Rough tarmac and some decent roads too.

you may get away with a 28mm but need to make sure youve enough clearance between the inside of the fork and top of tyre, dunno where your buying tyres but 100 quid but you can get good quality alot cheaper

Could be tyre pressure as well as width (you could reduce it slightly maybe, but be aware of pinch flat potential). Or the wheels or just the ride of the bike.

Google is suggesting the stock tyres were 40mm, so it probably is a noticeable drop. What width did you take off?

I run 28 on my road bike. My Hybrid came with 40's, which I replaced with Schwalbe Marathon II's @ 32mm, Running them at 75psi (I'm 100kgs) and they're very comfortable.

Actually it was 42 so even bigger drop. The guy at the shop thought 28 would work but he didn't have them that day. They are pumped up pretty hard alright.
.Thanks. might experiment with pressure too

Thanks. Yes I thought maybe 32 would make more sense.
