Ryan chairing a debate on the Eighth Amendment?

    What could go wrong?

A discussion with the audience should be fun, hopefully there's a few out and out loopers around.

Sounds like a right barrel of laughs.
Time to change channel or hit the cinema, pub or anything at all methinks.

To be fair to Tubbs, I think he will do alright on the debate side of things. I'm glad the LLS is starting to hit a bit heavier with stuff like this. I hope it's the start of something as opposed to a once off.

I'd prefer another country hooley so sick of hearing about the appeal the 8th ref, I cannot wait for it to be over

Ugh yeah. Change channel each time it comes on. The sooner it's over the better.

Tom Dunne of Something Happens will also be talking about this, quite frankly, magnificent day out... :)

One song that could benefit from an orchestra is ‘Patricia The Stripper’ by Chris De Burgh.

    Just sayin’. :D

What about abortion on request? You know, if they ask nicely, rather than demanding it.

Abortion only if you're casual about when? I think there's a time sensitivity element. Could be wrong.

The show is holding the first major television debate of the referendum on the Eighth Amendment with representatives of the Together For Yes and LoveBoth campaigns putting their cases forward for the repeal or retention of Article 40.3.3 of the Constitution.

Host Ryan Tubridy is helming the debate and will be joined by people who will tell their personal stories around the issue. The debate will also include questions from invited members of The Late Late Show audience from both sides of the campaign.

Also on Friday's show, Debbie McGee, the wife of the late magician Paul Daniels, will talk about reaching the final of Strictly Come Dancing at 59-years-old. She will explain how the show has given her a new lease of life and how life has been since her husband passed away.

Also appearing in studio, Irish jockey Davy Russell will be chatting about winning the Grand National at Aintree earlier this month.

Kerry star Jessie Buckley joins Ryan to chat about catching the acting bug, having gone from singing for Andrew Lloyd Webber's I'd Do Anything to taking roles in TV series such as Taboo and the BBC's The Woman in White.

She will also discuss her new movie Beast; starring alongside Renée Zellweger in the upcoming Judy Garland biopic and why her heart is always in Kerry.

So looks like the right to choose or not debate will be a segment. It'll begin to kick off and then he'll roll out Debbie McGee, who's husband was a b list U.K. celeb back in the 80's.
Followed by a jockey. Always a lot to say about a variety of stuff those lads.....

This exactly surely all that should be covered by primetime etc. It's not what I want to hear on a Friday night.

If he's going to try have a serious debate he needs give it more than a slot. Maybe one musical guest and an unrelated lighter segment, not a full show with this as a slot. The LLS tries to be everything and fails miserably. Could you see any late night entertainment/talk show covering abortion? The old Gaybo one would have managed but they weren't trying to be a mix of Question Time and Blind Date.

That's a poor line up but Graham Nortons line up is pretty bad too

In the interests of balance, you know. Both sides need to be represented.

Plus, there is going to be an obvious spillover into this thread so them's the breaks!

All the abortion crowd will pile into this thread like a bunch of Buzz Killingtons

Quite the opposite, it's about time the LLS started into this. For a show that was at one stage a heavy hitter when it came to social issues (the Gay Byrne era) it's good to see they have gotten in on the act for the upcoming referendum.

Each to their own but after a hard week I've zero interest in social issues or the usual misery slots served up on this show.

Feile is an u-14 GAA competition, I scored 1-1 against a Derry city side in 2006 in Celtic Park, we were a country team and beat them by over 20 points.
