Should Ireland criminalise sex outside marriage?

We now in a situation where men can marry women, women can marry women and men can marry men. So nobody will be excluded.
Personally I don't think we should.
If we did criminalise it would we help to reduce the unplanned pregnancy rate and STI rate. Might it also help to reduce everything being sexualized in the media and the pressures it puts on young people. People could simply say no because it was a crime outside of marriage.

I thought this has to be some sort of chore sex windup - then I seen the 8 thousand odd posts.

Eh, no. Sex should not be criminalised...unless that is, it's some sort of bad girl buys her freedom from crooked prison guard game, then criminalise away:D

    Absolutely!!!!

Cause we criminalized marijuana use and it stopped it right in it's tracks.

When you criminalize something that people want to do it will stop them from doing it straightaway and for ever more.

Not likely to happen when we've had 2 FF Taoichoch publicly tipping women other than their wife, and a current FG Taoichoch in a gay relationship.......

What a stupid question, I've seen some tards on Borads but this one is special.

That would be a huge step backwards.

For that to work wouldn’t you have to firstly have make marriage mandatory, so as not to discriminate against singles/divorced from the get go?

Where would that leave people born out of wedlock? Would they be referred to as illegals?

You know that plenty of married people sleep around right? Plenty of unplanned pregnancies occur, STIs spread.

    Your logic is faulty.

It would give internet moderators an excuse to hide behind why they're virgins at 40.

surely moderators shouldn't be starting what are clearly trolling clickbait threads?

Do you want to have some criminally bad sex tonight?

Criminally good may be more applicable for others

I believe firmly in the concept of try before you buy

What if the person you're going out with has wierd looking genitals but you only find out after you have signed a contract to only ever have sex with them.

Never thought of that did ya?

I'm genuinely curious, what do you do with all the single people out there? Force them to get married?

Anyone else having that nightmare where you're tea-bagging Miriam O'Callaghan and Louise O'Neill bursts in the door wagging her finger and blathering on about rape culture?

Will I suppose if a law did exist and they wanted to have sex and not break the law. They'd probably have to or travel outside of Ireland.

OP is onto something, 5 lashes in the town square for anyone that is caught

    Right so.

Coming soon to an After Hours near you....should we be allowed to murder homeless people if we only use out teeth and fists? It would help to alleviate stress levels among working people and would go a long way to helping resolve the current homeless crisis.

I don't think so but What do you think?

Sure didn’t putting women into homes when they had sex outside of marriage work very well in the past!

Yup. An exodus of single people. That will do wonders for the economy.
