Bahrain is on, the track called Borain that produced some good races. Last year was not too shabby either and Vettel outsmarted Mercedes.

It's Formula 2 these days rather than GP2.
One note for broadcasting is that FP2 will be on More 4 rather than Channel 4.
Can't be getting in the way of Countdown don't you know?
Both broadcasters will have a slight change of personnel, Lee McKenzie is taking a break from the next 2 races so for this one at least, Tom Clarkson will be subbing. Meanwhile over on Sky Ted Kravitz is celebrating the birth of his child so won't be here but as yet no announcement as to who's standing in for him.

    This too shall pass.

Ah no the best part of C4 not going to be there. I always think she is really good and knows her stuff. Love listening to her. Is she down below for the Commonwealth games?

Don't think so. Most of her social media seems to be still in Scotland.
Meanwhile a couple of previews on the screen.

    And on audio

So FP1 was uneventful really. Max having on Electrical problem with his car and only able to do an installation lap was the biggest thing.

FP2 was a bit better. Kimi was fastest with Vettel 2nd then the two Mercs and Pierre Gasly was in 8th ahead of the two Mclarens. He has been doing very good Pierre. If he can get into the top ten in Quali that will be really good.

Kimi had to come in 12 minutes before the session ended as one of his wheels was not put on right at a pitstop. There was a few lock ups and spins the biggest being by Sirotkin in the Williams. Then the camera zoomed into where Kubica was watching and said something like he will be doing everything to try help the tea m get that car to go faster. My thought just put Kubica in the car and it will do a lot better as well as go faster.

    Peace and long life.

Could that give him a penalty for an unsafe release?

    This too shall pass.

Hamilton +5 places for gear box change, so there will be overtaking.

Big weekend for me and Kimi

To save you getting out the calculator, if Kimi wins on Sunday I'll collect €1579.50.

He hasn't won in five years and its Race 2. I'd say they'll let him.
Its the 98 grand prix losing streak which is the bigger concern.

So if Hamilton does somehow manage to pass the four cars that will be in front of him and win the race it will be the first time someone outside of the top four has won it. Unless Mercedes set up Hamilton's car in such a way that it will be better in dirty air so he can pass the cars that will be in front of him or there is a big crash I can not see it being easy to do. His only real other chance is to get a great start and get in front of as many of the four cars that he can which will not be easy either. Should make the race a bit more exciting anyway but before that we have the Qualifying to enjoy. Will Bottas be on the front row or will it be the two Ferraris and maybe the Red Bulls? Should be interesting.

    Peace and long life.

Vettel might be joining Hamilton down the grid. Power unit problems Golden opportunity for the "Number 2" drivers or the Red Bulls.

    This too shall pass.

If Vettel does have a PU issue and it ends up with a grid penalty, the race is there for Kimi. He's looked on it this weekend so far, fastest in FP2 & FP3.

Grosjean out is a surprise. Exactly the same lap time as Fonsy who squeezed into Q2 by a gnat's hair

Gasly doing a great job. Groslean very unlucky and Alonso just about making it into Q2. The Mclaren's have not seemed to be great or very fast so far this weekend.

Grosjean over driving it I think, might be able to move up the field during the race if its easier to overtake than australia was
