    Hi all,

I haven't run competitively since underage levels and am not affiliated to a club. I have began training again over the last month and I would like to set myself a target of running competitively in either 800m or 1500m event at some stage over the summer but have no idea where to start.

Could anyone point me in the right direction please?

    Thanks,

    Dubh

Join a club. Even just to be eligible to participate in a significant amount of track competitions requires membership of a club

Boardsie Enhancement Suite - a browser extension to make using post-migration Boards on desktop a better experience (includes full-width display, keyboard shortcuts, and a dark mode setting)

Graded meets occur every second week throughout summer in Dublin but require you to be registered

In terms of training the below will give you decent insight into setting up your training if you do not wish to go down the club training route

Athletics Dublin/Leinster/Ireland usually have championship races included again though club membership is required.

If you don't wish to join a club some clubs host open meets which are open to all though standard can be very hit and miss.
