you can get 100Gb of Onedrive storage for 2 years as well to save your photos.

Battery is fantastic IMHO compared to my last phone - S7

I was seriously considering the p20 pro as i like what Huawei are doing with there phones but the whole stopping the bootloader from being unlocked from now on is total bull****.

You spend so much on a phone you should be able to have full access and control over it.

There's no real need to be unlocking bootloaders any more.

I'd root the phone just to clean up apps at this stage.

The amount of crap apps you get stuck with otherwise.

Can I ask re tempered glass protectors - anyone find one that doesn't have the 'oily slick' side effect when you move your finger around? I used to find on my One plus phones that I either had dot matrix effects with screen protectors or the oil slick.. id love a spigen or other make of glass but they don't seem to make for the huawei's

I have the one linked by micks_address and I can confirm no Rainbow/oil effect with this.

It has full adhesive and no bubbles once worked out with a credit card.
    works perfectly for touch/sensors etc.

I don't even notice the black edges (the phone has a black bezel anyway that it is over?, but I have not removed mine since to notice)

The one think that it possible effects, is the Knuckle gestures, but again I have not removed to confirm it is actually the protector affect this.

The previous screen protector I got (At release, so limited available) had the oil effect, the touch was bad, Finger prints remained and the proximity sensor was affected.

I would definitely stick to Spigen as you know what you will get.

not sure think you just have to d/l and open the MS outlook app i think, there was a thread about it a couple of years ago .

Had 2 years free with S7 and it ran out. Got the message again when i bought this phone and signed up with a different account. bingo 105 Gig

I haven't done it since the Galaxy S2 days. I only did it then to have the most up to date version of Android with a custom ROM. Have had a HTC One M7, Xperia Z2/3/5 then Huawei P9 and haven't needed to do anything with them. I can disable most of the preinstalled apps now.

Only problem with the Z5 was that unlocking the boot loader disabled 3,200 ISO so couldn't get better night time shots which sucked because it was a feature of the phone.

Mine does too, but I would like to associate a colour with a particular app like I could on my old Samsung... not a biggie if I can't but would be nice

    Quick one guys.

So I got my P20 Pro yesterday and loving it thus far - just customising it now.

I find the app icons to be quite large.

Is there a way to reduce their size, globally?

    Thanks,
    Ronan

Another quick query guys - slightly more annoying than my large icons :)

I’m finding lag issues with Google Photos - jusst scrolling through my photos is quite stuttery.

I’ve checked on xda developers etc and see that it’s a known issue.

Just wondering if anybody here has experienced it and if they knew of a potential workaround/solution?

    Thanks.

    Hi folks,
I ordered two of these by mistake so have spare one going for p20 pro. If anyone wants it drop me a PM. Would sell for five if postage covered or we can meet around Dublin. Excellent quality protector.

    Didn't seem to attach

That pic alone is almost selling it to me. Mind you my bar is very low coming from iPhone 5S :o

While on a call, if I move from a WiFi-connected area (my office), to a 4G area (outdoors), my reception deteriorates and drops.

    Any thoughts?
    R

(Edit: Think this may have something to do with Eir’s ‘WiFi Calling’. I’ve disabled it and it seems to have solved the problem)

Notice any differences? Has the camera been improved (I find the AI on the camera takes terrible false looking pictures)?

Just a quick one with the charging on P20. Went to plug it into my misses S8 Charger the other night (also a fast charger - Samsung original) and it kept saying charging, then would go off for a split second second, then charge , repeat etc etc. Screen kept going on and off and wouldn't charge at all.

Is it just the original Huawei charger that works with the phone? Also, is there a cable anyone can recommend that would do for slow/overnight charging? Battery is absolutely amazing.... getting 35-40 hours out of it now approx 3 weeks since purchase (albeit I stick power saving mode on for a couple of hours during the day in the office)

Completely forgot I had a cheap USB C Cable for in the car and that's worked fine when I last checked. Guess it was just the Samsung one.

All my cables I've bought on Amazon have been Anker. I'm not sure there is a specific slow charge cable. The output of the charger is one part and the depending on the quality and length of the cable I've found charges my P20P at a different rate.

It would be interesting to use different cables and what charge is been, such as the Ampere App on Play store or even they have digital power meters installed.
