With the 17th pick of the 2nd round, 49th pick overall, in the mock draft, the Indianapolis Colts select D.J. Moore, WR from Maryland
With the Colt’s pre-draft trade haul, they have already filled holes at Edge, RB, CB and are delighted that one of the top prospects at WR is still on the board by the time they make their 4th pick.
At the combine the Big 10's Top Receiver measured 6-foot and 210 pounds and ran a 4.42 40-yard dash. Alongside that speed, he plays much bigger than his size, and has extreme playmaking ability after the catch (see some of the touchdowns from short passes in the highlights).
The Colts still have needs at both OG and Linebacker, but those are pretty deep positions in this draft so should be able to fill at a later stage. Moore can play both on the outside or in the slot and the Colts simply must add to their WR depth, currently standing at T.Y. Hilton, Ryan Grant, and Chester Rogers. Given that the Colts were in attendance at the Maryland pro-day I think they would jump at the chance to pick him with any of their 2nd round picks and would bite your hand off if available here.

With the fiftieth pick in the 2018 NFL Draft the Dallas Cowboys select Christian Kirk, Wide Receiver, Texas A&M.
The Dallas Cowboys have many needs in this draft, but mainly at LB and WR. Given that the Cowboys have already selected a LB, a WR is the obvious pick here, especially now with Dez Bryant shown the door.
Christian Kirk is arguably the third best WR in this draft, with some analysts having him off the board as early as the late first round. Realistically however, he should be still available at pick #50. He did have some struggles this past season, especially in double coverage, which has turned some teams off him, but make no mistake, Kirk could yet prove to be the steal of the draft. His coaches have made no secret of his incredible work-rate, and his attention to detail with his diet and physical condition is something not often seen in players coming out of college. Not only is there potential at WR, he is also a return-specialist, with 5 college TDs coming from kick and punt returns. His destiny at this level most likely lies at inside/slot reciever, and should prove an astute pick for the Cowboys at #50.

With the 19th pick of the 2nd round, 51st pick overall, in the mock draft, the Detroit Lions select Rashaad Penny, RB from San Diego St.
LeGarrette Blount was brought in to be the between-the-tackles runner, but the Lions can't pass up a dynamic all-around back in the draft if the value is there, which it is with Penny. After passing up on adding a running back to the roster using last years draft, the team finished last in the league in rushing, both yards per game and yards per carry. Ameer Abdullah struggled in his first full season as the lead back, and now looks likely to be traded if recent reports are anything to go by.
Penny last season rushed for 2,248 and scored 23 touchdowns on 289 carries. Penny also caught 19 passes for 135 yards and two touchdowns and scored twice on kickoff returns. Quick, strong and a threat in the passing game, Penny is a three down back in today's NFL. His pass protection will need to be fixed but here the Lions finally get a #1 RB and a great 1-2 with Blount.

Picking up Kolton Miller with the 52nd pick of the draft would be a steal for the Ravens. Miller is widely mocked in the first round after one of the most impressive performances from an Offensive Tackle at the NFL combine in years. OL is a position of need for the Ravens so it seems like a perfect match. I see Miller slotting in at RT on the Ravens line giving them potential book end tackles in Stanley and Miller, Lewis could then stay at guard or potentially move to center to replace Ryan Jensen. Miller appeared in 30 games for UCLA earning second-team All-Pac 12 honors as a standout blocker in both the running and the passing game. Miller is an athletic freak with the arm length NFL scouts dream of and also the quick feet necessary to protect the edge. While not the most refined prospect technique wise I think he would benefit hugely slotting in at RT for the Ravens where he can continue to develop.0 -
With the 53rd pick the Buffalo Bills select Harrison Philips (DT) from Stanford.
The Bills had one of the worst defensive lines in the league last year, both in run defense and sacks. The signing of Star Lotulelei will help but they still need more bodies.
Philips is not particularly athletic but despite this had great production in college, registering a very high tackle count. He seems to make the most of his abilities by having a very high motor so he's not a guy the Bills will have to worry about taking plays off, which will make a nice change from the Marcel Dareus days.0 -

With the 54th pick of the 2018 Boards NFL mock draft the Kansas City Chiefs select Tim Settle, NT, Virginia Tech
The chiefs traded away their first round pick to select their QB of the future in Patrick Mahomes so this is their first pick of this years draft. They also traded away pro-bowl CB Marcus Peters so to me they are in rebuild mode and best place to start that is in the trenches.
Looking at value the top Oline prospects are gone so there is better value to be had with the Dline. Chris Jones and Allen Bailey have the two DE positions locked down but their starting NT was an UDFA in 2015 who has only recorded 20 tackles in 3 years which won’t cut it.
Tim Settle is a big man at 335lbs but he has speed and agility that is rare at that size. He is a high energy guy who explodes off the line and shows great attitude to work. At 6’3” he would be considered short but it allows him play with low pads and get good leverage on the opposition.
His weaknesses are that his high energy can lead to poor technique at times and he can lose his balance. He has displayed a good attitude to work and learning so NFL coaches should be able to add more control to his game but he possesses all the raw materials.
He reminds me of an Aaron Donald type player but needs work if he is to get near that level.0 -
With the 55th pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers select:
EQUANIMEOUS ST. BROWN, WR, NOTRA DAME
Carolina are in dire need of a WR to put opposite Devin Funchess, and after taking a safety in the first this is a no-brainer.
The brilliantly-named St.Brown is someone I anticipate being a day-one starter on the outside. 6 foot 5 and runs a sub 4.5 40, he is a physical freak who will stretch the field for Cam.

With the 56th pick the Buffalo Bills select Mark Andrews (TE) from Oaklahoma
Bills have a productive tight end in Charles Clay, but he has suffered from injuries recently and is not a guy you can count on for 16 games of a season. Below him the depth chart is space with Nick O'Leary next in line.
Mark Andrews was very productive for the sooners. He has good size (6-foot-5 and 256 pounds) and was a dependable catcher for Baker Mayfield. He had 62 catches for 958 yards and eight touchdowns and got the John Mackey Award (the best tight end in college football). Originally he started out as a receiver so has the skills to play in the slot or as a more traditional tight end on the line once his blocking improves, which it should given time as he is big enough0 -

DARIUS LEONARD - Linebacker from South Carolina State
Leonard amassed 113 tackles with eight tackles for a loss, eight sacks, one pass batted, two interceptions and one forced fumble in 2017. He has a knack for making plays behind the line of scrimmage, totaling 42 tackles for a loss with 13.5 sacks combined over his freshman, sophomore and junior years
Strong frame, Athletic, can make plays all over the field and a nose for the ball (6 interceptions).
He put on a lot of weight in college (50lbs) so may be reaching his ceiling there but we'll see once he hits a professional strenght and conditioning programme.
Could also improve on how he picks angles to close down opposing players.

The Atlanta Falcons select:
Mike Hughes, CB, UCF
Not a need really for the Falcons, but they have a good enough team that they can go BPA here, which Hughes is by a long way.
Hughes is a little short on experience (2 years), but has put some nice tape together. Looks like a great prospect, in a team with an already stacked secondary. Looks to be strongest in press coverage, hassling receivers through the route. Great speed and eye for the ball, will get you INT's. Talented kick returner as well.
The lack of experience would be a worry, but he will get the time to learn the game with a team like the Falcons.

The San Francisco 49ers select:
Anthony Miller WR from Memphis
Anthony Miller (5-11, 201), Memphis
They will draft receivers as they have not looked for them in free agency
Jimmy Garoppolo finished last season with an obvious bang, throwing for the third most yards in the NFL while working with a largely unproven receiving corps during his 5-0 run as starter.
His top pass catcher was Marquise Goodwin, who logged more yards in 2017 (962) than his previous four campaigns in Buffalo combined (780). Pierre Garçon was brought in to be the team’s top wideout but missed the final eight games after suffering a non-displaced fracture in his neck during an October blowout loss to Philadelphia.
Another Garçon-like wideout, Miller walked on at Memphis before finishing his career as a consensus All-American as a senior when he scored 18 receiving touchdowns, the most in the FBS. He checks the boxes when it comes to work ethic and toughness. Miller is the only player in school history to have two 1,000-yard seasons.0 -
With the 60th pick in the NFL draft the Pittsburgh Steelers select.....
Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, OLB, Oklahoma
Yes the Steelers are going back to back linebackers picks. Having selected a middle linebacker in round 1 to help replace Ryan Shazier this GM is taking another. This time an outside linebacker
6` 1" 253lbs he was a menace in college with 17 sacks over two years and earned joint Big 12 defensive player of the year
The Steelers addressed their biggest need at middle linebacker already so I had some options. A new running back, depth at safety and hey even a shot at QB to replace 36 year old Big Ben were possibilities but I`m going with a defensive player. Defense still rules in the AFC North and Okoronkwo will assist in both run defense and pass defense, he is very versatile.
Has been widely compared to Robert Mathis, will happily take that! Okoronkwo can play in both 3-4 and 4-3 and true he is undersized for some packages he can be worked in and contribute. He will play special teams too

Ronnie Harrison
Safety, Alabama
Harrison had 74 tackles, 4.5 for a loss, 2.5 sacks and 3 interceptions in his final year at Alabama. Safety probably isn't their most pressing need (was tempted by receiver here) but the thought of improving that already very talented defence was too tempting to resist. They've got defensive backs who can cover but I think Harrison would add something against the run and he doesn't seem to be a liability in coverage.0 -

With the 62nd pick in the NFL draft the Minnesota Vikings select.....
Dallas Goedert,TE, South Dakota State
With Vikings going OT in round one and needing a CB which they'd be overpaying for at this stage given those available we give the vikings a tool they know how to use in another tight end to complement Kyle Rudolph. Many predict Goedert could be the first tight end off the board and in the late first round so with him being available we give him to the Vikes...
Standing 6'5" and 255lbs this guy will be a big target for wherever he lands. A three-year starter at South Dakota State, Goedert thrived in the Jackrabbit’s spread offense, splitting his time inline and detached, and was a mismatch vs. every defense he faced in the Missouri Valley Conference. He is a big, physical athlete with the body control and footwork of a much smaller player, making himself available in his routes with his fluid adjustment skills. Goedert needs to improve his efficiency as a route runner and his blocking technique requires refinement, but his deficiencies as a blocker are based more on inexperience rather than inability. Overall, Goedert has the physical skill-set, dependable ball skills and motivated make-up to develop into a starting NFL tight end capable of pushing for Pro Bowl consideration.

Mason Rudolph QB Oklahoma State
With the Pats first two picks of the draft going to the defense, the attention turns to an offense with a few holes following the free agency period. Having traded Jimmy Garoppolo midway through last season the Patriots current backup QB is Brian Hoyer, at best a journeyman QB. Having gone through a torrent of rumours and questions about the tade of Jimmy G the patriots front office will look to secure their QB of the future.
Who better than Mason Rudolph to fill this spot, I can't see him falling as far as the bottom of the 2nd round but if he is available here expect the patriots to pick him up.
Forced into limited action his freshman season at Oklahoma State, Rudolph came into his sophomore season in 2015 as the unquestioned starter. Showing an early proclivity for Mike Gundy’s offensive scheme, Rudolph finished the year with 3770 passing yards, a completion percentage of 62, and only 9 interceptions to go with 21 touchdowns. Rudolph had even better numbers in the 2016 campaign, with 4091 passing yards to go with 28 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions. This past season, Rudolph put his name into Heisman Trophy consideration by passing for 4904 yards, a completion percentage of 65, 37 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions. He led all of FBS with 377 passing yards per game.
