Just thought I would mention here about 14 year-old Elisha Gault who is missing from Carrick-on-Suir in Tipperary since Paddy's night. I hope she is found alive

    Sad all the same.

Nearly 6 foot at 14 years of age, she should easily stand out, hope the poor girl is found safe and sound.

Post from her sister on Facebook

Missing 7 days now, no leads. She left without a phone or coat during that night on st patricks day, very worrying

Doubt its worrying to be honest, sorry to be a dick but sounds like she is crashing at a friends or has run off with a boyfriend.
These cases always turn out to be a waste of Gardas time.

Well you're right that is the case the vast majority of the time but 7 days seems awfully long to do that to your family

no they dont. sometimes they find a dead body

which is why its important to stay vigillant even if a large number turn out to be youthful romance or rebellion

If you have to say ' Sorry to be a dick' in a missing person thread, maybe you could refrain from posting? I mean really...

Very disturbing and worrying. The poor girl - this is very young to go off. I hope she is ok and didn't have any accident.
And her poor family! They must be worried sick!
I shared the "missing" notice on facebook anyway. I hope she turns up soon.

    Poor her and family.

No matter what I say I can't imagine what poor family are going through. It's something you hope never happens.

    Hopefully she is found safe

Have had a friend go missing which unfortunately didn't have a happy conclusion.

Genuinely the worst 48 hours of my life not knowing. Can only imagine how the family feel after a week.

Hopefully just a case of teenage rebellion and she's found safe and well and soon.

You are right, i'm sure it's not worrying for her family at all

Seriously as a Dad to 12 and 14yo girls i can't begin to imagine how the family must feel at this time. :(

Apologies for my post, I do hope of course she does turn up safe and well.
I was a bit unwise in my use of wording ..

That's one of the problems associated with written communication, it doesn't communicate nuance. I'd like to think that no one thought that you're totally unfeeling as to Elisha's actual situation. Like you, we'd all prefer it to turn out as an adventure that, while frightening to the family, has a happy outcome.

Unfortunately looks like the worst outcome for this poor child.

Body found in the Suir awaiting formal identification. Keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

I believe they also had CCTV of her on the bridge and then couldn't find her on any further CCTV.

So tragic for her and her family. RIP

These cases always turn out to be a waste of Gardas time.

Sbe ran off without a coat or a phone on what turned out to be a night where temperatures dropped and we had a fall of snow.

I really hope this poor girl comes home for her poor family's sake but im fearing the worst. One way or another i hope there is closure

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 184 ✭✭Purpletoes

From the posts on FB and having my own teenage daughter, I feel there may have been an argument and she stomped off (purely assumption here) which makes me feel even more awful for her poor mother and family. Even though tension over trivial issues flies with teenagers, I doubt, if that's what heppened, they won't be blaming themselves ontop of the stress they already feel.

Such a heart breaking situation either way and I hope so much this isn't her found and she turns up

Exactly, and while in an ideal world i would love this girl to come home, at the same time it is better for the family to get closure. Only an hour up the road you have the Dollard family where Josephine has been missing since 1995...

It is absolutely heartbreaking here one way or another. :(

A few years ago a guy I was friends with at college e went missing in Clonmel. I think there was a thread on boards. It was around the same time he went missing and when the body was found. He was last seen in Clonmel near the river and turned up near Carrick-on-suir. I think they just keep on looking.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,786 ✭✭✭wakka12

    Christ :(
Was really hoping she had just run away. Absolutely devastated for the family, can't imagine what its like losing a child so suddenly. RIP elisha
