    Some much needed
    new blood in this episode
    with, thankfully, some progression.

Crap, again. I didn't enjoy it.

How many episodes are left now ? Are they they going to drag this arc on into the next series ? And are they going to do the war that came next in the comics then ?

That would certainly kill it off.

Since they've introduced the other characters I guess that's where they will be going next season and Negan will be finished off this season

They need a mutation in the walkers where a single, short blade stab to the brain doesn't kill them. Certain characters in this episode were surrounded by a swarm of walkers and there was zero threat from the walkers. That tension needs to be brought back in somehow.

One of the few episodes in recent reasons I didn't resort to browsing in utter boredom. I enjoyed it and voted an 8, perhaps because I've been voting a 2 for the majority of the season :)

The interactions between Rick and Negan are hilarious, I loved the line about the cat when he fell through the building.

Better than last week but what I got from this episode was, Rich cant aim for **** and
    Jadis became somewhat interesting now

I felt pretty cheated by the "Car chase" that could have been nicely done but instead we see a soccer moms car keep up with a dodge charger..
Then all of a sudden in the next scene they've crashed.
Rick goes through two cartridges of assault rifle ammo and his magnum ammo and misses every single ****ing time.
    And he was a cop???
Much better episode but less of the hilltop crap would have been nice.
Maggie has the same face on all the time, as if someone farted under her nose.
The ending sets up for a nice finale.

Saw the first 3 or so episodes of season 1, but nothing after that. One episode they walked down an outdoor stairs and passed a line of zombies, not a bother on them :p Thought it was dreadful.

Why, why, why am I still watching this? Negan is the worst villain I've ever seen. Rick has the worst shot ever. He had several easy shots at him. Brutal. Just Brutal. It's a shame really, the first 3 series were excellent.

I will say though, I'm looking forward to Maggie finding a **** tonne of engineers and scientists to get that book of knowledge off the ground. There must be loads of them hanging around.

watching talking dead and very awkward seeing one of the guests (yvette nicole brown) calling bull**** on the writing and how negan survived that entire fight with rick from the crash to the fall.

host awkwardly changing the subject :0

An improvement on last week. New characters being introduced for next season was welcome. Dwight and Simon steal the show again. They really need to start culling some of the characters, though. The big fight between Rick and Negan was fine, but what the hell is up with Rick's aim? Woeful!

I'm guessing Eugene will becoming very valuable.

Seriously, Negan should have been shot on sight about a year ago!

Why the heck does nobody in the WD universe take the Indiana Jones' approach when it comes to Negan?

outside building auto weapon, Negan goes inside, waste around 6 bullets after he goes inside and not going to get him, inside in doorway pistol, he aims and Negan hides wastes the last few bullets on wall. Then fails do take him out.

In fairness, he's just lost his child, and is firing at the man who he ultimately blames for that death, and about to rush into an unchecked building with possible walker infestation. Not sure any one of us would have acted more calmly.

Very badly done that car crash I went back to see the car crash because I was sure I didn't miss it so had to double check my player wasn't skipping parts but no the show cheaper out yet again couldn't even bother finishing the car chase lol

So much stupid **** in that episode but I have to say I absolutely loved that for the most part. :D

Definitely getting a little more interesting / watchable but just how many times do we need to have an opportunity missed at taking Negan out

In reality with the opportunities the group have had he would be long gone

Fresh characters does inject some new hope re: future story line

One of the main reasons I'm still interested is to see what the craic is with the helicopter - no doubt that will be underwhelming

Not bad, although some of the camera angles at the Hilltop were kinda weird.

But oh my God, someone needs to give Rick a Fisher-Price machine gun and show him how to SHOOT! That was painful to watch. Not to mention that during the off-screen crash, he managed to crash directly into a pole in an otherwise empty street.

I just want to know how Jadis got Negan into the car. I'm assuming we'll see it in flashback or something? Maybe she lured him in on the pretence of rescuing him (which meant she's been watching either Rick or the Saviours) and then BAM!! Night-night town.

I'm guessing the new group will feature more in S9. But honestly, I hope S9 is the last season, and that the writers make it a good one. Tie up the goddamn loose ends and wrap it up. It has been a great ride, and I'll probably stick it out til the end, but I'm ready for it to be over now.

Oh, and isn't Simon remarkably verbose these days! :D

The new character(s) give us a tiny opening for an end game to the show, not saying it will be anytime soon but the door has been cracked now imo

It's a comedy sketch I think and we just haven't realised it, put the Benny hill theme to it and it makes more sense.
In 40mins he was crashed into, crashed and rolled, got shot at by an assault rifle which was also reloaded but dodged each one, shot at by a magnum and again dodged them. Then has an axe launched at his head which he manages to get out of the from.
Let's see, then he falls and goes throw the floor below.. not a scratch.
Then attacked by both zombies and Rick with a bat but still not a scratch and then manages to escape the building.
Read all that back and you'd think I was exaggerating.

I'm not 100% on this, but going on something posted in an episode thread a while back, timeline wise, ever since Glenn and Abraham were introduced to the business end of Lucille, it might only be a month or two that has passed.

Maybe somebody else can clarify if I have that wrong?

Not bad episode. Im starting to have some faith in the show after a 3rd consecutive watchable episode. Though it was still not great, the whole fight between negan and rick was so (unsurprisingly) inconsequential, drawn out, unrealistic and just boring

I feel bad that nearly half of people voted this episode to be an 8 or above..have ye not seen any other tv shows before..even with this radical improvement its still very poor television relative to the other shows that are popular on tv.

And I thought maggie miscarried during that event where glenn was murdered? Or did I just completely imagine that

There was so much stupid in that episode, eapecially the car chase and subsequent fight, that I gave it a 3.

No. She was extremely sick, hence why they were trying to get her to Hilltop to the doctor there, but she was fine after, so she's still pregnant. They're just reeeallllyyy stretching things out. Especially since Season 7 took place over maybe a month or so, and the first half of Season 8 was just a few days.

The reason why I can never really love this show is that it has a habit of defining what a character is about and is/isn't able to do, and then flush that down the toilet when the plot requires it.

Rick not being able to shoot Negan despite having a clear shot numerous times

A better episode than some of the sh!te in recent seasons.

I gave the episode a 6. It was okay, and did have some good moments. I'm particularly loving Simon's character. Some of the action was pretty good too. But there's no way Rick could have failed to kill Negan so many times there. Jesus christ you can headshot 20 walkers while spinning aound and not hitting anyone else, and you can't even wound Negan when he's running away in a straight line and you have a rifle? And your pistol runs out of bullets when you finally get within 10ft of him? Then when he's hanging from the landing, you go to get your hatchet instead of just reloading and shooting him?

    F*cking hell, Rick...

And then he draws Negan out by setting Lucille on fire, but rather than wait on him he turns his back and starts battering a door.

For me personally, I'm only hanging in for the next season in the hope that the new showrunner can reserve some of the damage that Gimple has wreaked on the show.

I used to think seasons 4 through 6 were weak and in serious decline, but 7 and 8 are just a whole new level of b-movie bad (apart from perhaps the very opening episode of S7, which was decent).

If the next season turns out the same as this one, I just won't be able to watch it any longer and will definitely call it quits at that point.

It's really painful to see a once so engaging show turn into something best described as a marriage between the A-Team and Hollyoaks that produces a baby with the worst qualities of both.
