    Hi there

Could anyone recommend a good gym in the IFSC area? I was a member of Flyefit in Macken St but found it too crowded and it had a really competitive, almost aggressive atmosphere.

    Thanks

I used the gym in the Spencer hotel up to about a year ago. Give them a shout i'm sure they'll have a free pass for you.

I was training mostly bench, squat, deadlift. There was three squat racks / deadlift /oly lift areas and 1 bench station with adjustable pegs and safeties. Usual caveats of busy lunchtime so get there early!

There were cardio and cable machines too, functional area etc. It's small but well designed. I liked it

For ~60p/m membership, free towls, decent facilitiles, pool (only 20M), complimentary towls etc.

SV fitness at the back of NCI college is another option.
I'm technically a member and don't really like it but they added a few extra racks and some functional training zone since I stopped training there before xmas

There a gym on the other side of the train station up the road a bit. Think it’s mainly classes it’s open early I drive by it going to work in morning. F45 or something like that.

An assesment of that place that always made me chuckle.
Have used it in the past.
Agree the equipment is limited, but should be grand for a quick lunch time workout..
HOWEVER, they act as the gym to the NCI college too, so its almost impossible to get a bar free with groups of 20 year old curl jockeys monopolising pretty much everything.

You would have thought they would be offering cheap access to the students at off peak times only i.e opening time-11, and 2-6 keeping the lunchtime and evenings free for their full paying members.

With the crowds of students its impossible to get a quick lunchtime workout in, which makes this place kind of pointless for a lot of people who it would otherwise suit to the point where they could over look the lack of facilities.

Given that you can't get a quick workout in between 12 and 2, its extremely over priced for what you get.
