Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Someone on the English team deserved a yellow after giving away 3 different penalties in under a minute.

Loving the baggy jersey on the French 8.

The high tackle was the third rapid fire penalty England conceded too, after two advantages.

The best 10 minutes of French international rugby against a top side in many a year.

Ford again - should have put the French guy into touch, but was passive in the tackle until Farrell got there

This is what I dislike about no backs in commentary. POC can’t articulate what went wrong with the overlap, essentially may shot up, meaning Guirado had to take it on further.

French scrum is getting absolutely minced.

There is no chance in Hell that this England team is winning the World Cup next year.

France have the worst scrum i have ever seen in the six nations

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,542 ✭✭✭dublinman1990

That penalty to England makes things worse for France. Not good.

title in the bag for Ireland another 25 mins of England running into brick walls ive never seen a worse performance from them

There's going to be a lot of discussion about England's backrow and why they're struggling at the ruck time. But it's not just them that's the problem, it's the entire pack that's struggling. If you look at Ireland's pack every single player strong in that area and they're coached to know whose job it is to enter a ruck in whatever circumstance. I don't see that with England.

Was it with England same against Scotland getting pushed off the ball in the ruck its like they don't know how to play.

I guess I'm the only one who doesn't mind his commentary. He is certainly not a brilliant commentator, but I just like the guy lol.

Peyper hasn’t really called much himself, played on when Bonneval was down a few feet from a ruck, missed the high tackle and now the push.

    Ready the Moore Meltdown Klaxon!!

When the BBC aren't in control of the broadcast, he complains about the slow motion being an attempt by the French to be artsy.

France really messed up not converting the 4 on 2, had they done so would have been game over

Ford is such a liability for England Farrell now into 10 where he should be

France look way more likely to score.
If this is the English side that turns up next week, we'll punish them.

France are great at sleight of hand offloads

Anyone want to bet england will call for the bonus points to be removed?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,542 ✭✭✭dublinman1990

Great 3 points from France. England need at least 2 tries to win with 17 minutes on the clock.

When he isn't pointing out the obvious or making banal statements with no bearing on the game, he's usually saying things that are incorrect, mis-naming players, not understanding the rules etc. etc.

Few weeks ago he didn't seem to be aware that you can kick penalties to touch after the clock has gone red.

Normally I expect a co-commentator to be offering tactical insights that stem from a life spent playing professional rugby but mostly he says the sort of ordinary stuff a regular rugby fan would say.

Jesus Paul O Connell really sucking those English Tiths on bbc commentary ..

Keep on truckin it up the middle England.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,279 ✭✭✭✭MadYaker

I dunno, in a way I’d nearly prefer England to win this one. If they lose this and lose to us next week that’ll be 3 losses in a row and they haven’t lost a game in twickers since 2012. I think they’ll be pissed off and out for redemption next week.

Getting some perspective on that opening fixture here.

Yeah but apart from all of that I think he is grand :pac:
