Yes, thats normal for the App.

BTW; check that your 4G/LTE is enabled -- your screenshot shows only 3G

Thanks, yeah I had to manually go into network settings and choose the Vodafone 4g network. It stayed at 4G for a while but it keeps reverting back to 3G for some reason. Pretty sure I should be getting 4G where I live.

I have no network at all.

Earlier in the thread I think someone mentioned they received a text from VF once they put in the SIM but I don't even have network.

You need to keep using your old sim for time being, once that lose the signal then put the new sim and wait for the offer to be activated!
This info is almost on every page so quick search is your friend.
Correct, keep using old one until service no longer works, then insert VF SIM( new)

But now cannot register on the website or the app - WTF?

That's normal. It can take two to three days after you're live on the network before you can register for My Vodafone.

call them. Sam3 thing happened to me. They altered my profile and voila. You do know that once on a call though, you revert to 3G, just so you are aware, this is normal.

Went into the store in Swords, they told me this offer has not existed for months. I explained people had gotten it recently. Left a message with Vodafone on boards. Waste of a journey to Swords.

Should have read the thread. It's not available in store. Only via the sales team phone number.

I'm sure corksfinest is about. He might edit the OP as it's a very popular thread.

    Just the basics such as:

    NOT AVAILABLE IN STORE
    MUST PORT FROM ANOTHER PROVIDER
TAKES A BIT OF EFFORT FOR MOST

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,882 ✭✭✭frozenfrozen

there was a good set of steps posted earlier in the thread, might be worth someone quoting it every now and again. I tried finding it now and can't see it

I got this text today. Not sure if it's for everyone.
Every time you top up by € 20 using the My Vodafone app, we'll give you 5GB of extra data absolutely free! All you have to do is top up by € 20 or more using a credit or debit card in the app from now until 22 November 2018. T&Cs vodafone.ie/terms Opt out call 1800200234

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,882 ✭✭✭frozenfrozen

Called yesterday at 3ish and I am ported over and have my sim since earlier today. Going to call customer care in the morning and get the free credit and data to tide me over tomorrow.

Very impressed so far with porting over, no hassle so far.

Just to be sure, when you dial 1741 do you get the message about the offer? I'm assuming everyone does. I'd just get on to customer care via live chat about it.

    Thanks dudes.
I just ordered my SIM there.
I made sure I heard the Northern Irish accent first :D
The line to customer care was really bad (as an aside).
Anyhow, I'll have my new plan in place by next Friday all going well.
Goodbye Tesco Mobile and your frequent loss of network, mobile data and leaving me stranded in a foreign country with no data coverage until I nearly had to rewrite a programme for my phone.
I'm looking forward to a 'normal' network again.

To thine own self be true
