    Hiya.

I received a warning the other day for being uncivil, I said another user a contrarian.

    Thread in question here.

    https://touch.boards.ie/thread/2057846049/1/#post106327743

I'm disputing the card as I do not believe that saying someone is a contrarian is any more uncivil than saying someone is needlessly argumentative or deliberately obtuse, they are imo the same thing and I have never in all my days on Boards seen anyone carded for using such terms.

I've discussed with Turtwig and we are at an impasse and they have advised they won't be rescinding the card.

    Cheers.

I'll ask one of the Sports CMods to look at this

Hi Business Cat, sorry for the delay but I found it quite hard to decide on this one as I could see both sides of the argument here. After hearing Turtwig's explanation I can't fault their reasoning for the card. The post was always going to illicit a negative response and was poisoning the well to a degree.

I am willing to lift the card but would ask that in future you consider debating the posters point or just not responding rather than going for an ad hominem type response.

    No probs Mick.

I will endeavour to pick my words more carefully in the future, thanks for taking the time to review and im happy with the outcome.

Thanks Business Cat, I'll get that lifted for you today and get on to the admins to mark this thread as resolved.

Sorry again for the delay in getting back to you.
