TaiwanGun downgrade. How it works?

I'm thinking of buying my first airsoft gun. Was looking at the APM40A3 SPRING SNIPER RIFLE (EXTREME POWER VERSION) from TaiwanGun.com
Using it for backyard target shooting.
They offer a free downgrade service. Does anyone know how this works? What do they do or change to lower the fps?

From what I recall it's the spring. One of the Polish retailers, has it the past, clipped springs. Can't remember if it was Taiwan Gun or Gunfire though.

Thanks. Seen a few videos with people removing velocity reducers so figured it might be that. Hope springs are replaced and not cut as I have had bad experience with cut springs before (stupid Opel Vectra, never again)

Usually with both sites it's a cut spring..... and it's not always below 1J even though they said they would be. Best get it tested once it arrives.
