Anyone else hate the sight of someone flying around the corner in the snow while you're walking? Amazing people didn't just slow down or not drive.

And splashing all the snow people are putting out on the road.

Anybody in Dublin/Wicklow considering playing the snow tourist, please read some of the posts on the following FB page ....

    https://www.facebook.com/wicklowalerts/

There's currently only a single lane free from Kilmacanogue to Roundwood and every man and his dog with a D4 jeep is trying to get out there or to Glendalough.

    STAY AWAY, PLEASE!!!

My cousin shared a pic on Facebook yesterday that's been removed. It was about 50 metres up the hill out of hollywood to Sally gap. It was hand painted and said "This is as far as rescue teams can go. Your on your own from here"

The situation in Wicklow looks quite severe. A lot of people cut off.

Next door kept his paths clear. I just let mine melt. He went to the shops and cleared out all the bread, leaving none for the old people. He likes to be organised.

Footpath is the cities property. Why would I clear that? I just drove over the snow and compacted it into slippery ice.

In the US, the patch of footpath in front of the house is the homeowner’s responsibility.

So you and your neighbours could walk safely on it

Beside me are a family of Romanian dole scroungers, across are a family of Nigerian dole scroungers, beside them are a family of Irish dole scroungers, and most of the rest are waster students.

I hope they all slip and break their arse on my compacted ice.

It is. The Gardai have now closed the Kilmac to Roundwood road to snow tourists. Presumably letting locals through for access though.

Saw a JCB at the local school. So I'm dreading tomorrow.

Idiots will be driving kids right to the school door.

So they'll have to go through a roundabout twice, to and from the school. Add to that the number of places were piled snow is blocking traffic to a single lane and those too frightened to drive over 10Kph an hour. And that means lots of geniuses will have the bright idea to do a U-turn.

    It'll be gridlock.

Schools in Naas are closed tomorrow. Sensible decision.

I've been clearing all around me since the snow started. It made my paths much safer to walk on while the uncleared ones were lethal.

I'll continue to clear until it is all gone.

If everyone did this the paths would be cleared much quicker and also safer for everyone over the days while it was bad.

Fecking impatient ebay buyers! Something I sold on ebay was due to be delivered on Thursday, hadn't arrived by Saturday, so the miserable prick opened a claim for a refund. I sent a polite message this morning asking them to be patient because of the disruption caused by the weather.

I know a large amount of people worked through from last Wednesday up to today but for those of us who were off work between Wednesday and today, how is your employer treating those days?
Are you going to get paid?
Do you have to take them as annual leave?
Do you have to take them as unpaid leave?
Did you have enough annual leave left to cover the time you had to take off?

I'm an office worker (Mon - Fri) in the HSE, back in this morning, and we are having to take Thursday and Friday as annual leave. An email was sent around by our line manager on Thursday morning asking anyone who was in the office to email HR and if you didn't confirm your attendance, the annual leave would be deducted from your record.
