Looks like a gas explosion, a house in a terrace has been fully demolished.

If it's the Hinckley Road, then it's a decent enough part of Leicester when I knew it about 10 years ago.

I suppose there's suspicion that it could be a bomb factory too, but rescue services are conducting a search and rescue for survivors which points to gas or something like that.

Took out a bus shelter by the looks of it, hope nobody is hurt or dead in this.

Very frightening incident. 4 people are hurt so far from this explosion. I hope the casualties are not too badly hurt.

Actual gas explosion or Religion of Peace 'gas explosion'?

    Why did you even bother?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 870 ✭✭✭Kuva

Medias hoping it's a bomb, next best lots dead, next best gas.

It's gotten really bad, that bus that overturned of few weeks back down the country, nobody died, media was upset, you could see it.

Story wasn't as good for them.

As opposed to those who do hope they are badly hurt?

I don't get why there's a ban here. Valid question in my opinion. Haven't their been a couple of instances across the continent like such.

Its a tad OTT. No wonder the site is losing posters.

Why are you always trying to argue with other posters?

All they said was they hope the injured arent badly hurt!!!!

No reason to think that the ban is in any way related to this particular post.

I don't know why the poster was banned, but the ban was imposed within a couple of hours of the account being registered, and after just two posts had been made. The smart money would say that the ban might have been imposed because the account was registered by someone who already had a boards.ie. account. They don't like multiple accounts. Another possibility is that the account was registered by someone who was already banned, in an attempt to evade the existing ban.

The post wasn't a ban, it was just a warning card for a pretty obvious and blatant dig at Islam.

The ban itself is site-wide, not just AH, which means it's nothing to do with the post and is for something else entirely (most likely a re-reg).

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Surely you've been around long enough to spot a likely rereg account?

It's seems it's very hard to have an open free conversation on this site which for me is very worrying. It's a discussion forum i thought

BBC is now reporting that 5 people are dead with 5 people injured with 1 of them in critical condition. The extra casualties are people who lived in a flat above the building which was a newsagent combined with a residential flat above it run by a small Polish community.

Jaysis the usual suspects on here were sure it was a gas explosion and nothing more sinister.

Jaysis the usual suspects on here were sure it was a gas explosion and nothing more sinister.

Perhaps they were going by the reports at the time and leaving speculation until more solid information was forthcoming.

I'd be interested in what the motive for arson was in this case.

    From the guardian.

"The police said they were detained on suspicion of conspiracy to cause an explosion and for offences under the Proceeds of Crime Act."

Who said it was anything other then a gas explosion?

    No need for that....reported.

No need to inform me. Just report it and if it's actioned, so be it. I don't need a running commentary.

Anyhoo, people who thought it was a gas explosion were just not into speculation and just going by the information at hand.

That’s a bit vague though . Was it an insurance “job” gone wrong or something? I’m not getting a “terrorism” vibe off this at all?

Nah, I don't take any pleasure either way in a sad incident. If it was a gas explosion, it's really sad. If it's arson, it's really sad.

And they have been charged with manslaughter and arson.

What are they actually charged with?

I take it it’s not a case of bad plumbing practices is it?

Me neither, just seems like common-or-garden scumbags.

I heard tell it was a distilling operation that went wrong?
Are there any actual terrorism charges laid as yet?
