Micro plastics are a disaster. Washed down the sink and straight to process where they can't be processed and dumped in to the sea that's already awash with indecomposable plastics. They're ingested by a lot of marine life.

I've done beach cleanups that involved removing thousands of plastic stalks from ear bud cotton wool cleansers in small eight metre squared area of marram grassed dune system. There's not way to remove these micro plastic balls. They're a disaster.

I find it hard to find out online, when & where there's beach clean ups on. I'd like to do one. Do you know when there might be one on again?

I actually don't disagree.

But I think it has become an easy thing to tackle. Every so often these campaigns come along and while there's nothing wrong with it, per se, there are more fundamental issues that can be tackled...that should be tackled with the same gusto. But they never are because they're not as easy.

But, as I say, no issue with removing micro beads.

I do them on the bull Island in Dublin in conjunction the surfrider foundation and UNESCO. There's a few facebook pages on them around the country.
